Is there ever a reason to go CNJ over WHM? I.E. ever a situation where it is better?

Possibly while solo grinding (not fates) just because you have access to more spells (even if you'll do slightly less damage). Otherwise in parties giving up regen is pretty painful....Or if you fate Grind Holy is ezmode Gold.

I would say no. The other abilities you'd have access to wouldn't outweigh what you get from being a WHM. As far as defense, you'd get Regen and Benediction which would be far better than any other crossclass abilities I can think of. As far as offense, as was stated by Exphryl, you have Holy; one of the best offensive AoE abilities in the game.

Thanks for the nice guide. Learned a lot. Especially the overheal part was new to me. Played a healer in guild wars 1, but overheal wasnt an issue there.

Surecast, also from THM, an uninteruptable cast is pretty good also.

Yeah, it's good but I find Eye for an Eye, and Swifcast are the only must haves. Virus and Surecast are more luxuries then requirements. At my level I still haven't used Surecast, nothing seems to really interuppt me. Would it allow me to cast through a Stun, or a Silence?

I believe that it would, but I'm not positive. There aren't many situations where you'd really need it. But one that I can think of is during Garuda fight, toward the end you could cast surecast then pre-cast medica to get party back up to full health quicker after the big aoe hit that interrupts casts. As we see more high level content, I'm sure there will be more situations to use it. You could use swiftcast in teh same scanario, but I prefer to always save swiftcast to be used as an instant Brez with a 1-min CD.

Either way if you go deep enough into THM to get swiftcast, then you already have surecast, might as well use it :)

Yeah, that makes sense. The one thing I've noticed about Raise though is it's cost, so really I'd rather always have a Summoner do it in a Raid environment and only have to use it when there's no other reason.

Perhaps you could upgrade this to a conjurer/white mage thread, because i think you assume anyone reading this know what enmity is and then almost at the end of the guide you explain what enmity is in detail, i think it should be at the start in a glosary or something like that, there you can explain things like overhealing, pre-casting, enmity, Aoe and pull (maybe?), etc... so anyone starting in mmo/healers understand the terminology used in this thread :)

On a side note sure cast its really useful at lower levels when used with raise because if tank dies the aggro mob will probably come for you and interrupt you and swiftcast will probably be obtained after reaching lvl 50 as whm
