Should I buy or wait longer?

If you haven't already bought it, can you? Last I heard SE was stopping sales of the game until they resolved the issues of their current customers being able to get into the game. Also, honestly I would wait until they actually fix the problem and at least a few smooth days go by before purchasing anything. It's pointless to pay for something that only works some of the time, and not necessarily the time that you want it to.

I'd suggest waiting.

I have a copy from 1.0 and I bought a copy of 2.0 for my husband to play. So far I have not even registered his copy yet, or let him register it. After all the issues I've been seeing on the servers, problems with registering the game, patch downloads, etc. and the fact that he can't even make a new character to join me on a legacy server so we can play together, I'm not even going to let him play it for another month at the earliest.

Since beta patch 4 I have not been able to play this game for an entire day, uninterrupted without some kind of issue coming up. "Early access" I maybe only got to play for four hours total and couldn't even queue up for the server that my legacy character was assigned to. Now that the game has gone live I can't even log into my legacy server everyday, and I play at off peak hours. All the other servers, except those located in Japan datacenters, have character creation locked. I had none of these issues in 1.0 or all the previous beta phases--I could log into the game when I wanted to and play without issue, and things worked. Now I can barely play at all. If this doesn't turn around soon, I'll be damned if I'm paying for a subscription fee when my free time runs out. I don't care how great the MMO is, if I can't log in and play when I want on a regular basis then I'm not paying a subscription fee for it.

At this point anyone I know IRL that asks me about this game, I straight out tell them not to even consider getting a copy and playing until next month, at the earliest. By then maybe the population issues and bugs will ironed out.

All of this is a damned shame too, because I want this game to succeed after all the care and hard work that went into the revamp. I played 1.0, and that game failed because well, it was terrible. Now 2.0 is out, and it looks like its going to fail not because the game is bad, but because its server infrastructure and customer service are awful.

Thanks again for all the replies. I am definitely going to wait to buy it until I see a substantial decrease in problems.

Have you even tried logging in today? There hasn't been an issue... There was a brief issue this morning of 3102 (of which even I was affected) but it has been resolved already. I'd say they're more on top of things now that they know the problems and the causes than they were last week... If you look at it from an IT standpoint, they're doing pretty damn well actually. I know plenty of IT guys who would fail hard when it comes to this type of work.

Once again, you are all just mad or don't understand. Closed beta was a different story. Of course you could login, there was nobody playing! There was no issues because most people were too greedy to even accept their invite knowing their data would be deleted... Once open beta came and everyone could play and their data would be saved, they all rushed to play something that before they had gave off the impression they had no interest in... I know multiple people who just went and deleted their beta invitation when they read the data would be wiped...

I have been able to login every single day by not giving up and not incrementally trying. You have to understand that thousands of people are trying to login to this game, all day every day since its been out. Even though they're here complaining on the forum about how bad it is, they're still running the game in the background trying over and over and over to get logged in. That means the window for login is about 10-30 seconds long... if you try once, get 1017 world full, then try again 3 hours later... you're going to see the same message - then complain you've been locked out all day... Why? Because people don't stop trying... and guess what... some people are smart enough and figured out that you can run a simple little program to spam the 0 key over and over on PC and guarantee yourself a login. Give it 10-15 minutes and you WILL get in - guaranteed. Now that maintenance is over and logins have been restricted, it's extremely easy to get in. You'll probably wait about 1-2 minutes... if that.

Anyway... this game is fine. I've almost got my 2nd class to 50 in the short amount of time this game has been out... and have a third in the pipeline.

Also... this game isn't going to fail because of this. This will all be over in a few weeks.... come Christmas time, everyone will forget this even happened.... Funny the way people work. So many good games have these same type of issues... and I know people who play them years later that aren't even aware it had those issues at launch.

Id say buy it, dont listen to most of the complainers on here, the game works fine and you can play it at will now, ive logged on multiple times since maintenance with no issues. This 3102 error some of them are talking about is nothing but you have to wait for your character to be logged out of the sever before you can log back in with it again, all mmos have this error and it is normal, it may sound bad when the people say a new error but fail to explain what it is.

All in all, this game works as intended.

Just make sure you open your ports, turn on QoS on your router and set it to highest priority, and add the exception to your firewall and peerblocker programs for it, and you will have no issues.

You do what you think best. I would buy it now if it was me, but thats me. You decide on your own. That way you can stand by your decision because u made it

The game is great. The angry mob, not so much.
Hyperion has not shown problems today, for the first time since early access, i was ble to log in with a single push of a button. No queue, no errors, nothing. Smooth.

If you will be creating a new character, maybe then do wait, because the weekend will prove a bigger test for SE with the new worlds opening up and almost certainly clogging up from excess users.

If you lready have a world and character in it, id take advantage of the seven extra days and register the game on the 8th or 9th.

Don't buy it. Realms are still full...wait another month or maybe two. If you buy it you'll face frustrating wait times and a bunch of 1017 errors.

I can't login period due to 90000.

I'm glad to hear you have no problems, but many people still do. It's pretty ignorant and selfish of you to think just because you're fine, everyone else should be.
