I'm not upset that you asked. I'm a pretty open person -- when my real name isn't involved. Others might take your comments as offensive because, "Why should I have to justify my feelings to you!?" You asked an honest question, though. In the world of social networking and all this other junk, why would anyone care about their real name appearing in a videogame? I have a fairly unique situation, though, and I fully admit that.

I'm not mad or trying to belittle anyone, your post just was more understandable than the OP so I just thought I would see what the details were. I can understand your unique situation, although without you telling me I would still not see why anyone would have such a problem. You never know unless you ask.

Very true. Well now you know. :D I'm sure there are a lot of other situations, too... but none that I can think of off of the top of my head.

The only thing I can tell is OP doesn't enjoy the game anyone and doesn't want his name on the credits anymore. That's a reasonable request, even if his name was unique or common. Just because it doesn't make sense, doesn't mean it has to either. This isn't law school where everything has to make sense in the most confusing way :)

I changed my last name, which is VERY specific and not common at all (i.e. everyone else who has this last name I am related to). The word I changed it to is a common last name.

You people need to stop raging at him. If he's had issues and this is what he's decided it's what he decided. This thread was for SE not for all of you to come attack for no reason.

As mentioned above, my name is very specific so yes, it will be recognized. If you must know, I've done some game journalism before and that is another reason why I do not want an endorsement attached to Square.

However, as I said the main reason is I am pursuing complaints against Square and Digital River. I do not want my name in the credits being held against me.
