Characters or Toons

I always called them characters since the days of UO. I've taken to calling them toons out of spite after being in the beta and seeing how ridiculously stupid people get about that term being used.

Toon (n) - A character in an animated cartoon
Animated cartoon (n) - a motion picture consisting of a sequence of drawings, each so slightly different that when filmed and run through a projector the figures seem to move.

Character for sure, toon or avatar sounds weird to hear or say.

Char or character. Toon always sounded strange to me.

But if I had to pick one, I'd say Character. I don't understand the whole 'toon' thing.

I think my preference comes from being an avid reader and occasional writer. I wouldn't ever refer to anything as a toon, even with cartoons - I call them cartoon characters. *shrugs* Habit, I guess.

Characters. In no place does this game EVER mention the word toon, so why call it so? I know that in other games they call them toons, but just keep that to those games, and use the correct term for this game. It really is even a bit insulting to call them anything else.
