You know, so many ppl complain that the fault is Square Enix. I have no problems with P2P. If it was a problem with Square Enix servers then everybody would be experiencing it.
Here is what a lot of ppl do not consider. Bit Torrents are frowned upon by ISP's because they assume it is users downloading pirated material. This is not the only use for P2P/Bit Torrent, but it is what it is used by the majority of users on the internet.
Hence ISP's will detect said traffic and throttle you or interrupt your packet stream to cause you to start over. I suggest that the ppl that are having problems to contact their ISP (Internet provider for those not in the know) and find out what their Bit Torrent and P2P networking policy is. You may be surprised that they don't allow such traffic and will throttle your traffic if they find it.
This is tricky as well, as alot of ISP's will lie and say they don't when they do. Just to keep business. But it is another thing to look at that may be causing you your problems if you think everything else is setup correctly.
its obviously not my isp since all other p2p works
And even with port forwarding (which fixes it somewhat) its still incredibly unstable. (going from 300kb/s to 5kb/s to 50 kb/s every 10 seconds)
Their system is just really poorly designed.
I agree i prfer the old school FFXI updater in PoL myself
Yeah, I'm just downloading the torrent as well. I've never really had problems with slow downloads. But, I'm not at my house and I don't really feel like dealing with taking care of the ports right now where I'm at lol.
6hours+ and im sitting at 93% with 0.0b/s but my upload has been flaring at 250KB/s for the last 3 hours. Can i press charges for having my computer resources be abused by a corporation like this?
Don't feel too bad, mine says another 2 hours to go, but its already been more than 24 hours for me. I've tried looking up my router settingsonline, but since I don't know the user name and password it's under, I can't alter it or even look it up. I doubt portforward will do anything either without knowing that info -.-
