Better Customer Service
I was an original subscriber and purchased the collectors edition and logged in on day one of 1.0. The game was HORRIBLE but I struggled with it for a couple of months until I could not stand it any more. When I heard about ARR I viewed it with some skepticism. However I must admit SE did fix the game and I congratulate them on that. Now I would only like them to fix the customer service.
I agree the log in restrictions should be in place to keep the world from crashing. However being endlessly greeted with "This World is currently full. Please wait until an opening is available and try again" is more than frustrating.
1). How are subscribers suppose to know when to try again!
2). What happened to the concept of a que? I would not mind waiting in a que, but to endlessly attempt to try to log with a error code 1017 is not the way to keep a customer happy. At least with a que I have an idea of when I would be able to play.

The part that really gets me agitated is all the legacy player were forced to stay on the legacy servers. Yet all these new kids come screaming to the legacy servers with absolutely no friends expecting everyone else to pick up their slack while blocking out the long term paying customers. This makes absolutely no freaking sense at all. I have no idea why they let anyone join the legacy servers. They should have at least bought us dinner before %&cking us over royally.

I would greatly appreciate a que prompt as well. I don't mind seeing that I'm 6 billionth in line for the que as long as I can que for the server and go cook dinner. As it stands I would not have been able to play at all so far without spamming for quite a while to get the que screen. I'm not asking for anything too crazy either, even an expected wait, just not wasted time :) Thanks.

Unfortunately I had to close the ARR because of a sound bug which caused all sound and music to stop playing. So what did I do? I logged out and shutdown the program. That was at 1400 CST. I have been trying to log back in since and it is now 1830. For me it has been 4.5 hours of constant log in attempts that have failed. For others, they have not been able to log in since they started TRYING to play in early access. I just don't understand how logging queues and auto kicking AFKers has not been implemented. This is by far the easiest immediate solution that can at least band-aid fix people not being able to log in. I swear if just these two things were implemented people would be much happier!
EDIT: I just wanted to add that this has me thinking back to when Aion first launched. They too had very high server traffic with log in difficulties. The difference is within the first two days they implemented log in queues and AFK auto kick. While this didn't immediately solve their maximum server load issues, it did let me know when I would actually be able to log in and play. I ended up having to wait in queue for almost an hour most of the time, but at least I knew I would eventually be able to log in, and about how much time I could use to go do other things while I waited for the queue to pop. Anyway I just wanted to share with you guys. Thanks.

bump... atleast put us in a queue..

The weird thing to me was, last night when I finally managed to get in the queue at 1030 MST, I was 48th in the queue. This tells me one of two things:
1) I got super lucky and hundreds, if not thousands, of people logged off at the same time allowing me that far up in the queue
-or-
2) There really aren't that many people allowed in the queue
I can't imagine that having more people queued is harder on the server than thousands of people pressing Log In over and over and over again.
The stranger thing is, at least for me, when I finally got on the server was totally stable. I had zero lag of any kind throughout my two hours of playing, and no issues with video or sound or anything. The game itself is great and ready to launch, I just wish they would get this server issue fixed sooner rather than later, because I would like it to be a stress reliever after work, not a stressor.

Bump... We really need a queue, or I'll will not be able to play this week. I can only play FF during peak times, =(

This needs to be fixed before the week is out. I pulled my ffxiv account back out on a whim, and on that same whim I can put it back up. Dont expect people to wait longer than a few days to login, they will return their copy and forget the game ever rereleased. Your already on thin ice with all this and you guys STILL cant see that your about to go through it.
BTW you need to seriously consider giving NA another free month if you cant get this solved soon. People wont pay to try.
