I was asked to pick a forum handle, I suppose it's because it was my first time in the official forums. It did state that once you choose your forum name you cannot change it.
Maybe there will be more options once the new Lodestone is up and running which shouldnt be too long.
When I picked my display name, it said very explicitly that I can not change the name once I have saved it, so I would assume it's a no for you as well.
I would also like to change my forum display name if possible. I was expecting it to be the same as my beta username, but it defaulted to my version 1.0 character name and I don't even plan on playing that character much, if at all. But it's kind of disappointing to not even be offered a choice.
I hope it isn't a mandatory thing. I quite like my name and I am sure if it is up for free grabs it will taken from me almost immediately... I made this name before the whole SAO thing...
I want to change my display name desperately. I no longer want Mecan.. that's old 1.0 stuff. I want my NEW name here now, I don't want to be tied to BS I put in 3 years ago on a NEW forum.

Don't really wanna change my forum name, but this forum lacks a ton of key features. Friend lists, a pm system and unlimited daily posting to name a few.
I'd definitely appreciate the ability to change my forum name.
Would also like to be able to change my forum name. We also really need a lot of basic features many other MMO forums have - this one feels extremely outdated at times and has tons of arbitrary restrictions to it...
