It was alreadys stated that all jobs would be available from phase 1. I'm at work so I can't search for the exact article, but I'm 100% sure I read that somewhere. It's as simple as temporary NPCs. I'm sure anyone who played in any Alpha test can atest to that. They'll unlock the class quest whenever they give full access to the entire game world.

They'd better all be in the game. If I can't fish the very second I log in... I don't even know what I'll do. Kill myself maybe.

You basically summed up what I was wanting to say, but I didn't know how to word it without violating the NDA.

In any event, we're all going to find out the details soon enough, so why worry about it? More to surprise us after all. ;)

The beta roadmap implies that they will be available in phase 2 actually. Sorry for the misinformation earlier. I apparently was inflicted with a case of H.U.A. syndrome.

Yeah like Molly said above, I don't see anything in Phase 1 notes about having all classes open

I noticed that too - its why I was hoping for a rep spoiler response. That said, they could have temp vendors for weapons to use those other jobs, and in phase 2+, they have the cities open and you can get the class/job gems for them then, but in phase 1, your limited to bard, dragoon and whm, ontop of having mrd/glad/arcanist(?)/thm/pgl base jobs too!

I wonder if that's because the level cap will be raised to 35? I don't see any mention of Uldah nor Limsa (leveling paths) until Phase 3, but now that I'm looking at it, there is no mention of having access to all classes at all, in any of the Phases notes.

Hopefully the classes will be available from the start then, I'm assuming we'll need tanks for the available dungeons unless they...

When I read it, I got that it'd be limited to Gridania again, but we would be able to adventure a little bit further into the Shroud.

In ARR you only start with 1 class you have to do the class quests they are testing that was listed in the pdf to unlock other classes. I mean they could just put temp npcs that let take other class quests sinces that what they want tested but that wouldn't make much sense now would it cause they wouldn't have the real cutscenes and stuff that are assoiacted with those classes in the actual towns they are in. Might be limited on classes till phase 3 who knows.
