I'm expecting:

Chocobo Races

A Card Game

Arcade Games(Most likely a snowboarding game)

And some kind of Surprise no one saw coming.

I do hope it runs on Saucer specific currency though. I just don't think you should be able to farm gil to get whatever prizes they offer.

So when i said "Tetra-Master" I was meaning the Triple Triad but, as always, I hoped SE would put their own twist on it for FFXIV:ARR. i like the idea of the TCG references, something like that would be really sweet and, even though i would be the first to throw a fit for losing a card, I support the losing a card when you lose the game. Or have the "Chips" people mentioned be something you can trade in for new cards in lieu of losing a card. Just some kind of system that rewards winning with new cards.

I would also like the card game to be something you can do outside of the golden saucer, save the saucer for tournaments and ladder rankings. I would love to be able to request a card battle from a city guard or whip out a card table and battle your fellow players while you wait for a dungeon run.

Chocobo betting, chocobo racing, chocobo battling.

Main Card Game (triple triad etc. we know something comes but dont have a name)
Card trading, prices for winning against current champion etc.

Colloseum, 10, 20, 50, 100, survival waves of certain monsters. Also being able to bet on someones match with how far they will get, with a ratio depending on their current streaks etc. (i.e. a person with 100 losses in 50 monsters suddenly get a win, that would give a high ratio if he wins etc.)

Casino machine and games as used in the real world, using its own currency of course, 10 gil = 1 currency, or something like that. If 1 currency = 9 gil, this would also become a good gil dump.


The prices in the games would be currency and cards mainly. Finishing 100 monster colloseum would give a weapon for current class or something like that for example. Currency can be used to buy stuff like cards, items, chocobo permanent stat upgrades and chocobo gear, etc.

Snowboarding races plz!

The Youtube video is from FFF: Chocobo Tales for the DS, but it appears to play the same was as the Wii version found in FFF: Chocobo's Dungeon. Choose from one of three cards that are randomly chosen from your hand of cards, I think it a deck was 15 cards, though I may be mistaken. The cards themselves pop up to life for a turn to perform their actions.

There are three phases during a duel, Pop-Up phase, Matching Phase, and End Phase. Pop-Up phase is where you choose one of your three cards, and how quickly you choose would determine your turn, although that could be overridden based on some cards special properties. Matching Phase is where the cards come to life for a turn and perform their actions. It is called matching due to the four sides with circles on each card. All four circles had either a sword, spear, shield, or it was blank. Then it was essentially rock, paper, scissors, with potential status effects and other special attributes/actions which were activated if certain criteria were satisfied. The End Phase arrived at the end of both players' turns, as used cards are converted to a color CP, and returned to the deck. If someone's health reaches zero, the game would be over.

That is just a brief overview of the battle card game that Square has previously used. I actually would like to see a game like this in the Gold Saucer. This would also be one of the few PVP actives I would actually be interested in, the other one that I can think of at this time being chocobo racing, if they permit direct control of the chocobos that is.
