and wasn't the character creation supposed to be available before Beta?

Character Creation preview is before launch. ^^

We were told on December 6 that the Benchmark program was soon to be released and there was a screeenshot of the benchmark program in progress. If "soon to be released" means it takes over two months to be finalized, I has a sad.

"Soon" in a MMORPG can very well be 1-2 months.
