It's not about patience at all if you enjoy it. As someone who got 50 back when it was Rank 50, then got the luminary rod (in three weeks after the patch) and has the hat, it all comes more from just genuinely enjoying doing it.

I did it so much that it took me a year and half to get my first combat class to 50, and I'd been playing since open beta without a break.

hopefully its fun to do like XI fishing game only more evolved, i don't know what the snore fest in 1.0 was called but it wasn't fishing.
