Idea: Allowing Spectators in Dungeons

This is a really cool idea!

I dont agree with full control ghost, bc a puzzle would suddenly takes shorter to solve bc uve ghosts looking out ffor clues harmless and notifies things to PT ahead.

Just let spectators views from pt member's POV and no control at all.

Ya this would be a really cool idea. I'm willing to bet the instance servers would be able to handle it without a problem. 1.x I would strongly disagree with this idea. But 2.0 I bet they could do this easily. But will they, probably not, but it would be definitely a cool feature imo. You got my vote!

Hey there Pseudopsia, could you make the green things fat/change to blue? Can hardly tell the difference between green and not green. (R/G visually impaired here so that might just be a problem I have :P)

That's kinda funny. I thought my eyes were messing with me when I saw that hint of green in the OP. I didn't know it was really colored till I read your post Seraphe. But now that I look at it again I can clearly see it, but its very hard to see still lol.

I like this idea.

To a degree, it is already possible if people make use of live-streaming services of their game on the internet, although this creates an additional load on PCs. Some people are known for doing such streaming of their playing, such as Doctor Mog.

Running it through the client would be far less data-intensive on the end user and absolutely awesome if you could roam the dungeon as a ghost. Of course, a lower priority for SE, understandably.

I am worried about using spectator to cheat as well. I expanded on in OP what could be done to prevent cheating such as limit the distance of the spectator from any party member.

IF they make PvP right and it's good enough for a eSport and grant serious competition level I'd be up for it for the PvP, for the instances I think it'd get boring, and... I think only people who have completed the instances should be able to enter, because if not it would spoil everything for those players that cannot get there. I know videos will be in youtube, but I think completing raids/and isntances it's in part it's own reward to the effort of the players trying to reach the end.

EVE-Online has this feature, during their annual tournament, but I do not believe it is open to everyone.

We will run into issues of 3rd party calling out shots/hints/3rd eye for the active parties involve, especially in PVP. One possible solution to this may be a 5-10 second delay, like they do with TV shows in term of *beeping* out words. I can see this be a neat feature for PvP arena.

For raids, I dislike the idea of the party leader having any control on who can and cannot watch. Only control the party leader should have is either allow or disallow spectator. Again, I would also consider doing this with a 5-10 second delay to prevent some of the "helping hand" issues some have already voiced.
