Food affects the accuracy trait directly and WILL help you. However for my Mrd I use HP/def food to help with my tanking. The "tasty" effect on HP food gives me another 175hp which by itself is helpful. The important thing is to adjust your elemental affinity to match the food you are using for best results. See the guide below to get an idea of the elemental stats you will need. (not complete but still helpful)

There's simply nothing you can eat that will affect your accuracy or your damage.

Food in this game is an ultimate gullability test right now. If confers zero benefit to meleeing, crafting, and gathering but like moon phase and crafting direction, you'll always get people who swear by colon cleansing and magnetic bracelets to swear by SOMETHING.

Food balance will surely come after the battle overhaul. Yoshida's already confirmed food is a broken mess, but he's right in that there's no point in fixing it until the system it's meant to impinge on is fixed first. You're wasting your money if you buy food for your meleer right now. In small fights, it doesn't matter, and in big fights it doesn't even numerically provide ANY performance outcome differences.

The guy up there says it gives him 175 HP. If he's ever under 175 HP, which is the only time that food would ever help him...his team's already got bigger problems than not having food, and food isn't going to make up for what problems they have.

The only way to improve your accuracy in any meaningful way is to equip feint. Just like everyone else.
Marauder's accuracy isn't even a real issue. Like food's effects, marauder's miss rate is largely placebo effect too. People believe it's less accurate, and that belief clouds their reality.

yes that is true, disorient is meant to lower the mobs evasion for everyone trying to hit it. Please ignore peregrine when she falsely tries to say disorient is useless. its not. keep it on your action bar.

I think everything in the game under the current formula has very placebo effects at the moment. Things in their current state are very broken including the "to-hit formula's"

Placebo effect rules the game right now. I think Square actually counted on it and thought so many of these impotent actions would fly simply based on the player base's inordinate gullibility and belief in the heart of the cards and subjective anecdotes.

If you think str and dex over 120 help you, you're gullible.
If you think food is making you hit harder or more accurately, you're gullible.
If you think magic craftsmanship affects HQ rate and craftsmanship affects success rate, you're gullible.
If you think moon phase affects HQ results, you're gullible.
If you think primary stats directly feed into HQ rates as their own variable in the equation, you're gullible.
If you think your HQ rates on a polished iron file +2 are better than that of a +1, you're gullible.
If you think you have a better chance of getting a runestone if you do or don't link, you're gullible.

That just called almost everyone out in some way or another. Believing in nothing is a huge error, and too common. We all do it because we all believe in our own abilities and assessments. Too much.

Certain players go through their entire existance beliving in false positives over and over though. We call those people gullible, and developers take advantage of their gullibility by making the systems as weak as they can get away with so they don't have to spend a lot of time balancing it.

Almost nothing you do in this game matters yet. You can just count on players believing they do. They're fixated on the numbers, while being totally ignorant about those numbers' actual outcomes.

Marauder doesn't even really have accuracy issues. You can subjectively argue they do all they want, but I generate and look at the actual accuracy rates of the teams I'm in. It's not true.

Disorient works, but only if you don't use feint and it benefits all attackers. Every mob should be dia'd and disoriented.
