Alpha First Look: Video 6 – Gathering and Crafting

didn't really understand the gathering. It looks like you just click what you want and get it???

One more thing i've got to say about these Alpha First Look Videos, it's like... how do you say... "Layback" is the word?

I love the new UI for gathering! Seems like DOL and DOH will be much more enjoyable. Only thing I thing that kinda bugged me was the fact that the outcome item screen for Botanist seemed a bit jumbled. I hope there is an option for sort in that UI...I'd prefer to see my choices from top to bottom instead of seeing gaps inbetween my choices...

Or even better, tighten up that part of the UI....since theres 8 slots available already, keep them...but hide them from view when not in use. So say I go to gather, and the tree I am currently at has 4 separate items available for me to select and gather.... I would only see 4 options to select in the UI...Not having an item list that has 8 slots but only 4 selectable options.....which doesn't always appear to be in order, or arranged in a top to bottom view.......did I mention the fact it says, "nothing"?? It looks silly to even have it say "nothing " there :P

Tightening up this part of the UI would complement the new system very well^^

There's a chance you won't get anything, though.

Hopefully this is the last of the alpha series of videos. Would be nice to see something from a more recent build, perhaps the beta.

OMG! This gathering looks so much better than 1.0. It's strait forward, no wasting time running around forever trying to find where the extraction points are, no more guessing at what you might or might not get from a random gathering process. Crafting looks good too! One small step for Eorzea, one giant leap for Eorzeankind! I still can't believe how much better this is. Maybe now i wont want to chuck my computer after spending 3 hours gathering and only having "Hand of the Gods" activate only once.

OH! And ALL our recipes will be saved!!! Hallelujah! Now i wont have to waste time looking up a wiki for the same recipe i forgot how to do. That was the deal breaker right there!
1.0=save only last ten recipes
2.0=saves all recipes. = love

I hated crafting in 1.0 but in ARR I love it so they get my seal of approval! Come launch expect Keith Dragoon to become Hyperion's Dollar Store! Cause I have like a billion crafts to level!

Gathering and crafting is more fun...

It's not only saved down, it's even tell you what you need for the future recipe. The crafter is only lv9 look at the list there are "NEW" lv11-15 already.

must be in "dream"?
