Server does seem quieter. Gridania is practically a ghost town and Limsa is just slightly more populated, although I did see a few new players recently.

I hope they don't get discouraged because of the apparent lack of people in their starting city. :/

One last thing. A portion of the changes in patches 1.17 and 1.17a are preparations for the mid- and high-rank PvE content planned for later release. As soon as we hammer out the basics of the new dungeon and raid environments, we’ll be throwing out some screenshots and introducing them to you.

It's funny, i thought Wutai was one of the more populated servers. I play in EST afternoon-evenings though so that may have something to do with it.

I'd prolly have to agree with a few ppl in here that a Server merge would be best up until the devs
got things sorted out and wel hopefully save some power even further that way.

And i dont really care if the server changes name as long as i can be Noomy im good with Server merge.

From reading the forums it seems a lot of people are off playing other games, they havent totally given up on FFXIV yet but they dont want to play a broken game. It also seems that Yoshi-san is really bigging up 'Companies' as it comes with an impending threat to all of Eorzea. Hopefully that content will come in very soon, I think we may get some more info about it this week with a date next week for d/l which may bring more people back.

SE have a lot of content done, tested and ready but they are having to rebuild the basics so they cant implement that content yet as they dont know how it will react with the new battle system/UI etc etc. Hopefully once SE get the basics right and people are generally happy with them (you cant please everyone) then we might see large volumes of content being added. fingers crossed.

Square Enix still has many options and things to go from, they can lower monthly fee after game is solid, make an exclusive deal with microsoft because as some know they said FFXIV no thanks, that and ps3 users will be more then enough life for XIV. IMO

If they lower the fee, they would be paying us to play, its already free.
