we are doubting things.

well the char creation is presented very well although i think there arent really new things to it. just a few things here and there.. of well.

and still there are exactly those hairstyles which we have now. and people wonder, why it isnt in that trailer yet. all yet to come in 2 months?


you will get thousands of new hairstyles, and hundred other things. so the promise?
from time to time its doubtful you know. and there is a good reason for being sceptical.

I would definitely like to see more hairstyles for all races, and have them all be cross race.

SE is confident in their design as Alpha for ARR is a STRESS TEST more than a bug finding mission (you still can, but that is not it's focus.) So you can safely determine the Alpha is resembling the final build without all of the content.

Beta for example will just have more of the world and a handful of more option (don't fool yourselves here.) The best part is, we already have more options than XIV 1.0 creation and people still fucking complain lol. It's not like SE holding out info or being slow with info, that's worthy of complaining (THE FLOOOOOOOOOOOOD), this is just being a spoiled brat if anyone complains about lack of x options at this point.

Thanks for making this topic. New hairstyles was something we were told was going to happen after the initial launch. After the change in dev direction and leadership we all settled for it's going to happen in months, to it's going to happen in 2.0.

Now we have alpha footage (hurray!! ^_^) and still we see no sign of new hairstyles. Many of us were unsatisfied with the small number of choices and so as ARR gets closer and closer we are getting antsy again.

I don't see how this is anyone acting spoiled when it's an issue that's been brought up 2 years ago, and we're not expecting 500 choices as some people like to exaggerate but certainly a bit more variety. The lalafells really got jipped as far as I'm concerned.

And no this is certainly not something that's unique to FFXIV, a solid character creation with a good amount of choice is the first impression anyone get of your MMO, if it leaves people unsatisfied they may wonder if they will get the same treatment with the rest of the game. I've seen it happen most recently in The Secret World.

So while the game should not be like City of Heroes and become a glorified custom character maker, it would be best if there were just a few more hairstyles. The current build of the CC is better then it was in all the right ways, but if you want people to be over the moon just add two or three more hairs per race, or two for most and 3-4 for the Lalas.

Thanks for making this thread OP :) I am looking forward to more hair styles too! Long (tailbone length) and curly/straight options would be nice! Something like Tifa, Garnet or Aerith's hair length :o

here in the live letter they speak about more customizations. i wonder why they do not implement more hairstyles is it that hard? okay.. better quality than quantity but on the other side we dont want to have clones, we want to be individual, especially when some of us only want to play mostly one character.





well i think the grass looks good to me.. and... hair is much more important because it lets your character seem to look individual.. can you be individual with having just 8 hairstyles? ;) clone wars? ;D
2-4 new hairstyles would have been great. ARR is a new game almost.. but then they only show haistyles which we have right now ingame..

You will find clones even if there were hundreds of hairstyles bcuz there is no statistic showing you what was picked the most already while you are creating your char and there always will be favorites
