I would like to role play in FFXIV ARR so sure I game
I suppose and your right it doesn't hurt it just makes me wonder if said forums poster took the time to find the FFRPC site before making one. It seems to me quite a few of my RP friends were upset about this new site but keep quiet.. Either way im happy with http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/ and don't see myself wanting to change after years of Ky's hard work on the original role players community site. Due to the hard work the poster has put into this site and the <3 for my fellow rp'ers I'll bite and join, but please, If your signing up for this forums site please take a moment to look at the original. <3

I know plenty of Roleplayers that will be joining FFXIV or are at least thinking about it in ARR, I'll be sure to pass the info along. :)
I really don't see why they should be upset, more options means it'll be more known. When its just one community or one site it tends to eventually be forgotten. Its good to actively advertise that these communities are out there. RP-ers shouldn't be upset about more then one community. Most of the ones I know like having more than one place to gather.
You'll find griefers everywhere. best to blacklist and ignore them and go about your business really. Even in official RP servers people will still troll you. I personally hope for more areas that are able to be used for these functions that aren't as busy as say an adventurer's guild.
Internet drama: Reborn!
Kylin doesn't lead anything. He maintains a website for roleplayers, that's about it.
I'm sure people can make arguments for communities that don't rely so heavily on community cohesion like a roleplaying community does, but I can't see any significant number of people who frequent any other FFXIV community as much as they do the one they prefer.
I think the biggest problem people in the RPC tend to have is that this new website has the same purpose and the same functions as the RPC does, and the person who made it essentially admitted to making it just for people who don't like the people at the RPC. It's hard not to take it personally when it seems like someone just made a duplicate website just because he doesn't want to hang around with you, and doesn't want new players to hang around with you either.
Oh obviously blacklist and ignore, but that doesn't always solve the problem. I remember one time a group of people got together, crowded around us, and started casting Holy and Meteor around us while we were trying to roleplay. You have to give it to them for creativity at least.
Whelp, that's the price of making enemies in a group of people who participate in an activity. The same thing happens with Hardcore LSes, one person gets kicked for some reason or another they flip out and make a new "semi hardcore" LS and start inviting people... This is normal and not unprecidented. Obviously there isn't a constant cohesion in the RP community. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable in the RPC because a couple more established RPers don't care for me (For non RP reasons)
So honestly, I would probably feel fine in this new community as opposed to the RPC
