Did they say no fricking bells for the Easter event? *JOY* Happy days!
YES.

I dont mind the seasonal events. It is still something to do. This time, no bells, so I wonder..
I think this is what bums me out the most. I was hoping we'd at least start to see a shift in the game's battle mechanics starting with something simple like the 8 person limit for PTs/NM adjustments or class changes to make them more unique.
Instead I'm sure Ul'Dah will be a spam fest with the typical "TRADING "X" EGG FOR "Y" EGG".

Does anyone here really care about seasonal events with the current state the game is in?
Course, I'm probably not as concerned about the current state as some. They're working on it, and there really is no point in stressing about it. Or stressing them about it.
I love how people take a statement, then from that statement, they conclude that something completely unrelated and unmentioned won't happen because it wasn't specifically mentioned.
So what I took away from this letter
1) the quake gave them a delay, which woulda put 1.17 into mid april, but instead of that, they split the patch up into 2 so we could get some of the content early.
2) the event for may is canceled so they can work on better stuff for us instead
3) we got info coming on a raid soon and such
4) more info to come!
also, companies were not promised for 1.17, what was promised was info on them before 1.17(which there is still time for, and i got a feeling we will see an entire post directly related to them and not just a letter with an overall view on whats coming)
the even also, as much as some people dont like them as "content" i got a feeling it was being worked on before the quake, so that it wasnt worth scrapping at the point where they looked at what they could have done for 1.17, but since they obviously didnt start on mays event, it got scrapped
either way, i bet we see 1.17 next week
