It's not only about having a good ls, it's about having even enough time to play that part of the game. Then have a good enough PUG party ( Because good LS's that carry you through content aren't recruiting ) to do Garuda with no deaths and Ifrit extreme... Not to mention I don't trust PUG parties most of the time and can't forget the speed runs! So seeing how the pre-reqs are more of a sure win to those who have a steady/organized group. Unlike to those who are in and out of the game. It's very discouraging.

Enough time? Are you kidding me? You can get AC/CC speed runs done in a few hours, seeing they only take 17 minutes each x6... Plus a 15 minute darkhold run that's about TWO HOURS. Everything else, caravan, coins, behest is a joke and should only take you an hour or two also.

Next is spiritbonding which at most should take you three days if you like kill coblyns by autoattacking, normally about 6 to 12 hours soloing.

Ifrit should only take about 25 minutes and Garuda less than that.

You could get a whole relic in 1 day, realistically 3-7 days per relic.

If people can make their own organized group to do things there is no reason you can't other than lack of skill or people don't like you.

And yes people get carried into relics.

You're forgetting at what time I'm free and who's around to actually do runs. The lack of time on my part to wait around for things to get going too. I have class at random hours of the day and they are very long hours (up to 9) to get home at night to cook to be on for about an hour or so. Yea, totally gonna get a PUG group to run a decent speed run or hamlet JUST in time for my needs, while being not mentally operational. I rather not waste my time on the whole relics case till 2.0 because of this. As easy as you want to make it sound, it ain't specially for those that don't dedicate a full day to the game.

My personal opinion, I don't care for the relics because of the timesink system they added into it.

No matter how nice or good I am, people have their groups already settled. So it's a bit hard to find a group on my time and actually cool about it. I'll wait till the dust settles in 2.0 to see what they'll have in mind for the changes.

you not having time doesn't make it a timesink.... the only real timesink to relics is hamlet and that can be done in 3-5 days if you put in the time/money for top provisioner. other then that its just about getting the stuff done.... even if you made a static group and you did say 1-2 hours a day (assuming your past hamlet) thats still only like 2 weeks per relic if you have a skilled group that can do everything..... 2 weeks isn't really much of a timesink at all really.... you'll spend way more time then that just farming DL gear

and i dont see changes coming to make it any easier Yoshi already said that more people have relics then they thought would.... meaning he thinks its too easy

If they would have made it AV, CC, Ifrit and Garuda the req I'd be fine with it. A challenge without the whole gimmic of "Lets make the timesink to keep players doing the same thing they did two months ago while the servers go down". But adding the hamlet into the equation just makes it dumb and draining. I would put in the time for Garuda and Ifrit if it was like I mentioned. Me not having time makes it more of an obvious thing as to why I wouldn't want to do relics in the current system.

I will never do hamlet to get my relic. So basically I wont support the system that people derive on. It's like voting for someone who's stealing my time out of my life. If I do have the time I'd rather do other activities than hamlet itself. Now my hatred towards hamlet is not the point. Rather it's time consuming factor, since everyone going for the same thing in the end. Rinse and repeat the damn hamelt... mmm yea not gonna happen.

Had enough rinse and repeat with the Primals... and the dungeons. Like I want to keep doing the same thing for the last few days of the servers. I rather have a difficult fight than have to repeat the same process over and over to achieve my goal.

You can get rank#1, does 3 hamlet and be done with it. Tada, a non repeating hamlet solution.

you can go for top 3 with 1.5 mill+ 12 times & only get it once. easier said than done

if you think this is realistic you are crazy, unless you already had a lot a money to spend, the real thing for regular players that DO NOT play 24/7 and DO have a good LS that wont wipe for anything except ifrit and have a playtime of 3 to 6 hrs/day is

double meld: if you dont have the gil and are going to farm everything it will take at least some hours to a few weeks, depending on your luck or if you are willing to buy it double melded already.

kill SH bosses: 1-2 hours - because they will probably kill at least 2 and more likely all 3

AV/CC: 6 hours - at least my LS will always do AV and CC one after another, so that means that you will run 6 times (12 total) each to get 3x of each ore

coin farming: 10 hours - with some luck, the relic im doing right now it took me about 15 to get 99.

behest/caravan/darkhold: 2 to 4 hours - behest happens every 30 min, it could take 40 to 50 min to complete it depeding on when you arrive, same with caravan AND you also depend a little bit of luck on caravan to get 1k.

spiritbond: 10 to 20 hours - depends on the relic, efficiency and some luck, at least my server all best places are packed of ppl doing their relic and sometimes you have to choose non ideal places SB.

faction: 1 hour - for most factions you will fail at least once if 2 or more are new to it.

garuda: 30-40 minutes

ifrit extreme: 1 to 12 hours - everyone knows this fight is EXTREME, any errors may cause a wipe and sometimes ifrit is just not in the mood to lose it.


so, if you take the maximum time possible and a playtime of 4hrs/day it will take a regular person about 14 days to complete the relic, that is , if your LS does everything with you, which they might not, most of the time ppl in LSs are in different stages of relic and they will help each other, but not on all stages. And also, dont forget im counting this time to be a nonstop and very efficient all the time, my war spiritbond took me about 20 hours because i went afk a lot, i SBed in Zaharak which is probably the worst place to do it and a few times i went to SB and found ppl camping everywhere so i just had to move somewhere else or wait.

Can you do relic quest in 1 day?

It is possible, if you play all 24 hours of the day and beat ifrit in less than a hour and of course, buy double meld, coins and do AV 3x then CC 3x. I just dont think anyone done it yet, most ppl need sleep after 14-16 hours of playing non stop.
