Why must chocobos be our companions

I like the chocobos, i personally thinks it adds more flavor to the game. Will be waiting for a large scale siege that requires us to fight on a chocobos!

I would much rather have the option of having my path companion out there with fighting with me, or having my chocobo out there fighting with me. I've been wanting to fight along side my path companion outside of main story quests for a long while now, and now they just decide to scrap them... so weak.

To be honest in a Final Fantasy game the only companions that make sense are:

Chocobos
Moogles

They did if you were certain classes, otherwise they served no purpose.

Only temporarily. They're bringing back the system later down the road, and it won't be restricted to story missions.

Since you'll be able to make a choco farm in 2.0, why not make it so you can mass produce chocobo meat? I bet they taste delicious and would give good stats.

Also: people, ogres, vampires, remotely controlled robots, talking firecats, Qu, Rohnso and Vieira.

Chocobos have been battle compainions since Final fantasy tactics. And even then, chocobos have had magic abilities. This is my first time seeing them in AF. So I'm excited, im sure we can get other companions down the line.

Yeah now i know what game they had this armor in it was Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, tho it was not popular i thought it was a fun game. I'm ready to party with my choco cause mine is gonna be a whm.
