Do you (we) want music ala FFXI?

are there any links to any ARR sample themes?

I like the music overall in FF14. Listening to some of the leve tracks when you're spamming leves can get a little repetitive, but if you haven't heard it in a while it's refreshing. I could listen to the song in Natalan on repeat for a long time and not get bored of it.

so you guys want to keep the same "theme" and style of music in ARR?

@ OP while I almost totally disagree with alot of you post.

But more music, different for solo and group and zone... Hell yes..
I do really like the style in XIV but it could be expanded on massively my only issue is the Eorzea in sound and music is its far to warm and fluffy..

But I would much prefer darker more atmospheric music, rock, vocal fast tempo combat music.
This style would be great for fighting the empire imo, This too

Then much more slow thoughtful music for dungeons and remote areas.
and some actual songs ones for the main story moments.
Eyes on me , oh and the Jecht battle

Final fantasy have so much great music (and tones of amazing fan music), i'd love to see more of it remastered, editited and done here.
I could go on linking stuff for hours..
But I've stuck to the more recent ones for examples as tbf a lot of it does sound dated now but its the atmosphere it can invoke that is important.

But This is one love or hate 7 that gets me a little every time I hear it in my music collection. :(

What you describe fits more what I was trying to express

I think that the game needs more variety and different types of themes depending on the situation etc.

I recall a thread where the OP was comparing our current tracks to Distant Worlds classical versions. Which made me want SE to add a toggle between classical onry and origninal track lists.

lol... i am one of those people that really enjoys the music of a game.


Right now (this is my personal feeling) the only songs that "get to me" in 14 are "answers" and the hildribrand song,, which is amazing... ohhh and the them of the final AF fights.. that is also VERY NICE.

I am not trying to compare this with 11, nor I want to swap the DAT MUSIC files. I just hope that we get a similar experience.
For me, when we did missions or quets in 11 i LOVED to hear this song...

This song is very emotional... and who would have knows that it was "distant worlds"

Imo the game needs Uematsu only. ..but i know it aint gonna happen ; ; play Last Story and you know what i mean. Uematsu's music really touch your deep self, highs and lows..
