You can't speak for the majority, but yes I can see where you are coming from. It is a selling point.

Nobodys cares if you want to play with jps (which i'm 100% sure YOU WILL NEVER EVER PLAY WITH)
We're getting WoW-Like bosses in 2.0, and these are NOT possible with a 300ms latency. I'd rather have these racists on their own planet than having to suffer from "why did you stand in the fire?" issues.
You are going across a path some random IT guy at your ISP wants to Tokyo, this is quite often a slower link, and its a public link that slows everything down.
If SE pools servers in Japan, EU and NA, you will be going through paths SE choose, which will be a lot faster, or if SE wants to you could be going across a leased line on SE's network just for FFXIV traffic which will speed everything up even more.
What matters here is control of the links.
Pretty much everyone enjoys the fact XI and XIV are universal servers if only for the fact there's no dead air at certain time periods like in other MMOs which are regional servers only, you clearly do not enjoy them being international servers yet you chose to play a Japanese MMORPG, which is fine.
While yes Dataceters aren't "segregation", people are just showing concern even though it's just a mere connection booster rather than splitting.
Im just slightly confused. Say im connecting to the NS server, and playing from NA.
Wouldn't the NA server still need to connect to the main server?
And wouldnt that give us lag?
Or is it going to be something in terms of ifrit's cracks being calculated by the NA server, and it only connecting to the main one to stay in synch?
So you don't know what it means or what it entails at all, but you still feel the entitlement to comment on it as if your opinion is imperative?
You say you have no idea what you're talking about, but you still think you should talk about it.
My head is spinning.
Be careful, if you give me the chance I become rather addictive, unless u are elexia.
A data center or computer centre (also datacenter) is a facility used to house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems. It generally includes redundant or backup power supplies, redundant data communications connections, environmental controls (e.g., air conditioning, fire suppression) and security devices.
That quote doesn't pertain to this conversation. Or rather, it doesn't really clarify anything.
EDIT: If anything it would suggest that there will be segregated servers (with the option to pick which ever one you want)
To put it simply, is a place where a large amount of information is stored. That can mean any data coming from the internet, data from offline, etc etc.
When were talk about the internet, the data Center can link to another data center of course all data has a center point. ( Center point being Japan location of FFXIV Servers), but when you connect to say NA data center (server) which is closest to me. I can still play with the people of Japan because that data center is linked to the data center in Japan.
That's how I understood Data Centers. Correct me if I'm wrong though, so I can understand it 100%.
