Given the latest games he's appeared in, he's more of a super boss now than summon honestly.

All I want is a pet Cerberus. Is that too much to ask? :(

Also, I hope future additions to the primal group include primals that have heavy resistance to magic. At least a couple, just to spice things up a little.

Shinryu has pretty much always been a super-boss. It started out as such in FFV and was added as a bonus to ports and remakes of older titles (FFI and IV). It's a regular boss in FFIX under the name Nova Dragon (this is from Dissidia's character file for Shinryu)

Famfrit, Ultima, Mateus, Exodus and Adrammelech are the Totema of each race in FFTA. Each race can summon their Totema if a character of that race acquires 10 Judge Point after the Totema's been defeated during the storyline.
