I think it would be interesting if we actually had to ride the doom train. Like it takes people over to the void realm or something. The party has to start from the back of the train and fight it's way up to the front cart where it has to fight the face/core of the train.
Fight it like the Jhen Mohran from Monster Hunter Tri. First make it appear as a random event while you are riding the train. All trains are aware of it's presense so they're equipped with anti-Doomtrain equipment. Break it down, board it on when you have the chance, then in the grand finale (after you "break" it down) you have to kill it head on before it starts up completely again while evading all of it's skills (throwing ghosts at you or something).

Honestly I see Doomtrain like Alexander - one of the FF spirits you don't generally fight so much as hope cooperates rather than killing you with a shrug >.>

I like how there pops up a Doomtrain thread in the forum every once in a while. Just goes to show SE needs to make this happen!
Doomtrain will probably be a roaming primal like Odin. The reason I believe so is because of the train tracks outside uldah. They have to serve a purpose other than pure aesthetics, considering 1.0 doesnt have train tracks at all. I'm guessing Doomtrain will just randomly pop and roam Eorzea via train tracks. Otherwise, the inclusion of train tracks is entirely random and utterly pointless.
