One Concern about Expanded Character Customization in 8.0

Just hope it doesn't cause looks of my character to change after they add all the new options.

I never really understand when people use the most cancer color combination and outfits, do they just look at their character and roll around on the ground laughing or something?

I've played an Alien in Star Trek Online. Nothing they add to this game's character creator can hurt me.

Some people lack an eye for colour coordination, or simply do what they want whilst being blind to how others will perceive it.

Agreed. It's another hit to the game's once cohesive lore and aesthetics. Combined with all the IRL clothes and other joke items they keep adding, I worry that the game will stop looking like FFXIV at all and perhaps even turn away new players.

What the character customization in this game actually needs is more face options, more hairstyles, a separation of Au Ra faces and horns, animation customization, etc - a full colour picker for skin and hair is not what we needed and imo creates more problems than it solves. A reasonable expansion of the palette would've sufficed, and wouldn't lead to neon creatures running around Limsa and further breaking immersion. I hope face paint layering isn't the only good feature they'll be adding.

Sir/Ma'm this a mmo not a single player game, so everyone has total freedom in the current CC and glams whatever they want now in May 2026 already including running around in small clothes, 2b leggings, mascots dyed in neon colors, joke armors/weps, and that giant hat from Syrcus Tower.

If anyone really annoys me then I just blacklist them in town so I don't have to see them anymore, and they can blacklist me in return if they dislike my glams too.

Unrelated, but I hope the color picker option is also added to Limbal Ring settings, despite not being mentioned, cuz I'd love to have a more glowing, vibrant red for my eye rings.

I'm hoping that color changes for skin and eyes won't cost fantasia anymore, due to these kind of changes.

It seems a bit overdue anyway.
