Remember when Yoshida said they weren't taking pre-release concerns about 4.0 lilies seriously because they would work perfectly and we would love them? Remember when they confidently removed Energy Drain from SCH and then added it back almost immediately because, again, the pre-release concerns were correct? There's zero reason to trust CS3's judgment when it comes to healers.

Wait.. you are actually serious. You only saw a glimpse of the design. Some stuff might STILL change, but they showed the main core idea of the evolved skills and the direction they will take the job design.
People wanted to be a heal bot, now they got what they wanted and they STILL complain. As for the WHM Lily management, really? LOL..hahaha

That's why it's important to give feedback now.

And those complaints I had are still applying to this.
The entire point of GCD healing is to contrast it with something else on the GCD, like an attack, and then make a decision on which one is worth it now.
Sure, we're GCD healing more now (WHM has always used GCD healing...), but there's no more contrast. GCD healing is free with no repercussion.
It's lilies with no lily gauge. And from what all I saw, all of WHM's GCD tools are condensed into Cure and Medica. What made those fun to me was MP management and, again, decision making, now that's moot too.

I'm sure you can find more old posts from me to verify that I didn't want to be a heal bot. Just sounds like you're goomba fallacy-ing me here. :p

I didn't notice this thread before but this was my reaction. TL;DR I'm afraid based off Evolved Mode - Reborn Whitemage abilities were pruned.

WHM mana management is not even a thing anymore, starting with lvl 58 and up, and especially if there are no hard mechanics that requier ppl to be full hp to survive.

The only time you do have to do mana management is in some fights in-game with Niche mechanics. Like Kefka savage where the duration of the healing penalty is based on whether the people are topped off or not. He also reduces the party to 1 HP multiple times, followed by a lot of heavy raidwides. Some fights are heavy healer checks, but it's not the norm for sure.

In ultimates, you might sweat in some parts, but mana management is generally not a thing now.

I wouldnt mind seeing Cleric Stance back in Evolved Mode...
It doesnt need to disable healing spells, but it could upgrade existing buttons to new damage type spells.

I hope there's still time to take feedback into consideration.
At least this isn't a media tour fiasco, when you're being presented in the last month of the expansion release.

GCD healing has mostly always been free because of Lillies, and you rarely need GCD heals other than Lillies currently.

What MP management? Mana management consists of Thin Air, Assize on cooldown, and Lucid Dreaming.

I like the free movement when using damaging abilities and hope they keep that trend on the other healers. Unsure how I feel about stuff like AoE till I see the whole kit in action, as well as Dia/Aero.

Sounds like more of a critique on the fight design. Which I think a lot of people agree that job design and fight design has to come hand-in-hand to make sense.

I'm talking about the cut GCD tools from Level 50. Which, at their very core, implies choosing different GCDs for different reasons. The main reason being MP.
Would it be better to use Regen, with cheaper MP but takes more time to get its full heal effect? Or is it possible my ally is about to take an extreme amount of damage that calls for Cure II, with higher MP cost but faster effectiveness?
The combination of those free and boring MP tools, and battle design making damage sparse and predictable (thus placing more emphasis on mitigation than raw heal output), will of course mean MP management is rarely explored now.

I think you're misconstruing that I prefer how WHM plays right now. I don't. (Well, I still have some fun in level 50 MINE. :p)
Evolved mode WHM is at least a step into finding a unique identity for the job, but it needs more work.
MP doesn't have to be the decision making factor of the job. But, from what we can see now, there's no decision making factor, and I think that's a problem.

I always felt something like Cleric Stance could work for WHM, but instead of shifting healing power and damage power, special attacks could be available only in attack mode, and special healing tools could be only in heal mode.

Ye it looks really bad. Just checked around on other internet webpages and people are already doom posting and showing facts about how boring and depressing whm will be. Big L to healers kek.
