If they actually put effort into continuously updating Blu, then keeping it as a limited job would have been fine.

Limited jobs are cool, so I voted for Blu to stay limited. As a limited job, blu serves a purpose to me. I can use it to run low level dungeons quickly for catbook stickers thanks to basic instinct boosting run speed, or I can use it to have a reasonably good time farming fates since it keeps all its skill while level syncing. I could also use it to engage with the carnival or do the goofball raid stuff if I am so inclined. Which I am generally not (though I did get the Morbol). While these aren't the best uses, they are uses. I also just like the patch day frenzy of leveling and getting new skills.
You know what use I have for a non-limited blue mage, or beast master for that matter? A big fat 0. I level them to cap and don't touch them again until the next time the level cap goes up. I am not a person who is inclined to roll some dice to determine what job I queue for something as. In my estimation, samurai is currently the most fun job in the game so when I queue for something, I queue for it as samurai. Well ok, except for LDR and HLDR where I queue as mch and pld respectively. Mch is the job that suffers the least from random level syncs and 50% of the time I HLDR I get a single pulling tank so I just suck it up and do it myself. But minus those 2 roulettes, it's samurai time. Since I am heavily bias'd against spellcasters and pet classes, the odds that blu or bst make me want to swap main jobs are very low.
It's weird to me that people are so hung up on the limited jobs as a concept. You got 21 non-limited jobs to pick from. I get it if you personally loved blu or bst for whatever reason and you're mad your preferred job can't do normal stuff. I don't get it from people who don't have that particular skin in the game but are mad about it anyway.
BLU shouldn't have existed if this is what all the time and resources go to every few years, and it genuinely annoys me that they're adding a second, probably even more bareboned job instead of throwing BLU more than crumbs, which they'll likely have to fight over from now on to boot.
I understand people liking the concept of a job that plays out of the box, especially with how homogenized all the others feel, but this ain't it chief. As it currently is, it's a waste, and I'll die on that hill.
PS: if we could, at the absolute least, play the MSQ or NG+ as BLU or BST(?) I may have a different opinion, but since they can't do even that, well...
Limited job. There's already plenty of regular jobs to choose from.
Limited job. The standard jobs in this game are too boring to hold my attention after maxing them. Current BLU offers variety, unique gameplay, customization and solo opportunities.
I don't care that I can't use BLU for msq or any current content I do care to spam for glam for a short time or whatever. There are enough jobs to do that on already.
My personal preference would be that SE ONLY added and enhanced limited jobs from now on.
I would've always preferred it as a regular job, but not if that destroys the massive amount of content that's specifically made for Blue Mages. That ship has sailed.
I'm not happy about Beast Master, but it looks way more interesting as side content than Blue, to me, personally.
Limited job. The best part of Blue Mage is picking which skills you're taking into the instance. And outside of some must-haves and BiS, there is room for personalization.
Full jobs have static hotbars and rotations. And are homogenized. (Which I don't hate.)
Being a limited job also lets BLU be weird. Surpanakha is a quadruple weave that is best started after an instant cast. Winged Reprobation is a weird 11112 combo. Final Sting is a finisher, which no other class has. And then you get the really weird stuff like Avail and Malediction of Water.
The thing that annoys me about bst is that they have level capped it at 50 and like... why? If it was the only limited job in the game, I wouldn't be annoyed about it, but it's competing with blu and being capped at 50 means it just loses immediately. It is launching pre-relegated to a novelty, which, yes, blu is also a novelty. Blu does at least have uses outside of the blu only content though and bst isn't even going to have those.
BLU has so much horizontal progression in a game that's almost entirely linear progression. It needs to be in a different category just to avoid an intense amount of player drama which would say it's ruining the game. Whether you call it Limited or something else, it doesn't matter, but I'm fond of the "Limited" name.
I would be interested in any way they could bring BLU into more content while keeping this in mind.
I'd prefer it as a regular job, but I know it won't happen and it's okay.
I just don't care about limited jobs at all, I didn't even bother unlocking Blue Mage and I won't unlock Beastmaster either.
