Consider where the moblins/ goblin lived in FFxi and the little camp (that looks like and junkyard in xIv). I highly doubt the xIv dev team are going to break the trend from "trash-treasure collecting" to "cutesie". It's plain WRONG.

I'd rather they go with a steam-punk theme type of town or village for our little green friends. The area where you learn to convert materia, gain the catalyst gathering ability and melding skills is much more the nature of a true goblin/ moblin. Knowing SE, even if there's signs leading to believe its a ancient moblin village, it could be something else(or isn't it??) O_o

I'm calling it right now.

New Sylph village of Moonspore Grove.

Maybe they're hippie goblins.

Nomadic ones collect trash and wander about causing fuss.

The ones 'back home' are peaceful, flower loving gobbies who smoke pipeweed.

Look more goblin than anything IMO.
