"Trust me bro, it will be different this time bro. Yeah bro I know I said that 4 times already bro but trust me this time bro"
-- Basically everything Yoshi has to say anymore.
I hate to say this but, maybe we should wait until after the EU fanfest before we go full on doom posting.
With XiV being one of the two big name things that Sqenix is producing besides the upcoming 7 remake both possibly landing a release date in late 2026/early 2027 (with DQ 12 MIA and who knows when XVII will be announced). I don't think we'll get any super game changing until the EU fanfest. Don't want to spook the player base(anymore than they already are) with current trends. The NA one is going to be stuff to garner good will and the JP one will be what they finally decide to do going forward.
While I wouldn't want it, with how popular(and profitable) the mobile industry is in the East combined with more and more Japanese gaming and anime companies wanting to get away from "westernization", a mobile focus turn wouldn't be too surprising. See if they can profit more off of the the extreme loyal part of the community.
I'm not expecting anything more than the usual overcorrections in the wrong direction in response to feedback tbh.
outside of the usual hamster wheel i dont expect very much, if anything i predict they'll do something with player housing since its been a sore thumb in their side ever since its inception an with them dropping old tech an promising a switch two release it think its safe to say they've been working on their back end finally an we will probably see some good quality of life adjustments to things like inventory storages, ui, an all that. but outside of that? business as usual they won't ever take a massive leap cause they are too scared of failure an profit loss even though if they theoritcally took some bigger gambles they might actually see bigger returns just like with this glamour restriction being lifted it brought back a significant amount of players as did when they removed dawntrail's plot thread if they keep moving like this then we will se a new boon but if they back peddle welp GGs
For me, it means nothing until we see either leaked media changes about to be deployed, or patch notes.
It's vague enough that the general player base can fill in the giant blanks and imagine/hallucinate whatever they want and fork over their pre-order money.
God I miss Bozja. I had an absolute blast there and was hoping, PRAYING even that Occult Crescent would be modeled after it. Instead however it managed to be even worse than Eureka, it's like they WANTED it to fail so they could justify never doing another field operation.
FFXIV already has a battle pass. I'm expecting more of that.
