I'm starting believe these are not DDoS attacks. Because if they were, the servers would stay down and become near impossible to login. But instead they are crashing, and once your character gets registered its logged out, you are immediately in a queue and back in the game...and then repeat. It's not a persistent servers being down due to being hammered...this is a completely different outcome.

There is something causing the servers to crash, whether this is something akin to the retainers bug, outdated server infrastructure or something else....there is definitely something going on.
