Fields of Glory (Shatter) needs a massive redesign

It is funny that you can get teams with almost a thousand points in kills and still lose.


All the maps/modes could use some tweaking. Games should be max 15 mins and bad ones should be 10. They should reconsider the movement buffs. Players can cross the whole map when objectives start to spawn. The games have no thought to them anymore. Just a swarm from one side to the other because everyone moves so fast.


I have had some bad games. But they should probably consider some sort of timeout when you hit 10 deaths. Since they have nerfed premades no one should really be hitting 10 deaths. I also know SE has very little GM oversite. But trolls in the mode should get punished. Bots used to play better then some players when we had 8vs8vs8.

They absolutely need to adjust the points. I miss the old Shatter map so much, it had character. If I also remember correctly, before the map rotation was even a thing, Shatter was pretty much the only mode you could get in the roulette since people probably only queued for it because it was so quick. XD

You know since SE decided to randomly put you in any Grand Company team is there even a reason to have it be 3 Teams anymore? Like can we just have frontlines with 2 teams instead of 3.

The closest we have would be Rival Wings. But in NA they never pop outside when some discord scheduled a coordinated pops, or during mogtome which they just pop naturally. They also mysteriously never mentioned Astralagos for whatever reasons.

I don't get the mindset. "yes im bad, so im going to stay bad and force myself around you all actively making matches harder for you guys". As another said, its different if its something you know you're bad at, and then just avoid. I do the same. I dont think anyone wants to get stuck carrying me in PvE lol, that'd be sad and rude-which PvE'ers can agree, they dont like it if you're bad and just die the whole time making their run take longer. but for some reason when it comes to PvP, its perfectly ok. None of those people matter, just you. No interest in learning, not helping anyone on your team-just show up and wait for a handout in 2 weeks. 2 weeks of queueing every single day for a solid 20 minutes, but can't spare even 5 to figure out how to rotate through 4-6 very predictable buttons.

Anyway back on topic, I personally preferred old Shatter. It was a tad more fighty.
Nu-Shatter is VERY rockcentric. I've played it very carefully since it came out and discovered that if you focused entirely on ice, most times you win. If you ignore most of the fighting, and collectively burn down rocks asap? It's an easy match. but it's a boring match, too. We queue PvP to PvP, not to play "who can burn down the items the fastest". Plus as others have said, the tunnels into the big ice areas are very annoying. Ends up being Peekaboo until it finally falls and whole team is forced to come out and actually play. but then by then, the other team is antsy from being bored staring at their rocks, so then they come and attack you rather than typically the other party who's in the lead lol. Overall mess. Would be nice if they let us toggle which version of Shatter at least, or something.

Well, because I know full well that with my exclusively >100 ping it's entirely pointless to try and get better at a gamemode because no matter what a samurai will just teleport on top of me and instantly oneshot me 100 to 0 before I can press even a single button, so I just accepted that. And in turn I could unleash literally every single ability in my entire hotbar on someone and it would nudge their healthbar like, 1/5th. So I just accepted that the gamemode is bad and only exists to earn daily PvP EXP. And trust me, if PvE had limited-time rewards that I had interest in, I would also do it even if I knew I was bad at it. It's just that... there aren't. Anything PvE I do have interest in I could just delay getting until years later when I can unsync it or something. PvP battlepass thing is not like that, so I am forced to engage with content I do not enjoy, do not understand and find objectively bad just because I want those glams and those emotes. Who knows when those are coming back, if at all, at the rate at which PvP content is being released from the FOMO jail.

Idk, I enjoy the story and quests, I enjoy dailies and slow progression over time. I play it cuz I enjoy it. I do not enjoy the PvP in the slightest though and had it not had some of the best glam and emotes available in the game locked behind it, I wouldn't engage with it at all. But it's just like 20 minutes a day for a month or so without much sweat or effort to max it out so I just shrug and queue and play it however and when it's done I move on to other things. If you think I'm miserable, I think you're just projecting.

its easy to 2v1 1st place but people are stupid. far takes 1st place ramp. near takes tunnel. easy. but too many people just try and jam in through the tunnel and/or focus on each other.
