True, but some guys who made a mod isn't SquareEnix holding LLC.
I think it's fair to permit the devs to ward off harassment through a polite call for order while simultaneously digesting warranted feedback. Everyone can be civil, but not everyone is being very well-adjusted in how they are providing their feedback, hence the 'behave yourselves' message.
In theory, sure. However, their inaction since SB (worrying about the first signs of job homogenization and leaning into the 2min meta) has only caused this issue to blow up in their faces. They should just take their lumps and course correct instead of making an official statement of "Pls bee nice, we are ppl too!" while making each patch leaner and leaner while pushing the time between patches longer and longer. Their statement feels incredibly disingenuous and feels like another attempt to squash criticism. Don't know why they are making these statements when the gcbtw do it for them, lol.
If we're talking theory versus practice, in theory people are upset and vote with their wallet. In practice, they remain subscribed for a myriad of reasons.
If they actually bothered to communicate more with the community, then things would not be as bad as what they are.
The developers are so intent on treating this entire game like an excel simulator... Then my feedback, and the tone of my feedback is going to reflect that.
Like, if you want people to actually care then start showing that you actually care... Maybe I am just completely out of it (or maybe they do and they just aren't good at showing it), but the impression that I get is that care comes posthumously, and not actually something that appears like proactive care.
This is my perspective on it anyway.
I can see it, people still buy fast food junk like Mc Donald's and taco bell despite the fact its grossly overpriced, use cheap ingredients, and employ people that can't even be bothered with basic sanitation. It's the same situation across the board, even in video game land. Oh well, some things just can't be helped, lol
Only FFXIV forum users could manage to get offended by such a statement.
You have zero customer entitlements within this frame of thinking. You didn't purchase a car and get a horse. You purchased a game that you didn't like. You don't get to demand anything. You can ask nicely and provide feedback that might be listened to, if you show respect and don't act like a whiny little baby.
