Entire FFXIV is political the exact same ways as things is happening in real life, both back then and now... AI for an instance with DT.... and insane Dictators and more... even past pandemic was a part of it... and more real life events....

And as Warrior or Light you have to fight against these extreme people you see everywhere and win for the actual greater good.

Do you guys think Dawntrail would have been better if the main character's name was "Woke Lamat" and Alisaie was posting on Tumblr and telling you that the city-state of Old-Sharlayan was rooted in sexist and ableist ideals? Maybe go back to the Gaius monologue and have him start it by putting on a red hat. I feel like it could enrich the lore a little, make it feel more real and bring it up to modern decency standards.

Seems we're in agreement. Maybe there's a spark there. Maybe an expansion that's more fun and less serious rather than trying to be profound in some way is what we need.
