Its really hard to not see it if you do more than just your daily roulette. Opening the Partyfinder to find a Ultimate Party or going to the Limsa Marketboard to buy something is already enough to get bombarded with that stuff.

There are other ways to advertise that kind of RP outside of the game and official forums. Discord Servers, Websites, ect. It takes less than 30 seconds to find the FFXIVVenues Website on Google by searching for "FFXIV RP". Expecting parents to always keep an eye on what the child is doing in an story and combat focused mmorpg is really unrealistic.

Ok now seriously. The average age of the xiv playerbase from what I have seen is far over 25. Now imagine an lets say 16 y/o somewhat new player visiting one of the "spicy bathhouse"s out of curiosity after seeing it listed on the Partyfinder. Gets introduced to that kind of RP among players far over his age. ( before someone stops me here now. Yes i know. Not everyone does that kind of RP this way but some are.) It turns my stomach thinking about that the older person might rub a salami while "RPing" with said 16 y/o. Thats some criminal "pdf file" stuff that doesnt belong in an MMO. Especially not that accessible via the In-Game Partyfinder. That kind of RP is still between 2 People and not AI. The age matters.

It's interesting to see that there are people who log into FFXIV, see "VERY NSFW" in a PF description, and think: "This doesn't break ToS". I wish I could be this naive.

or we disagree with it completely just because something is written into a tos, rule or law doesn't mean it should be obeyed sometimes people make rules they HAVE NO RIGHT to make to start with, and this is one of those examples when the MSQ story and content itself has it written into the lore/and story its hypocritical to have a rule against it in the TOS

I guess I must be really unobservant because I've never felt bombarded by "that stuff," nor hardly ever noticed it.

Meanwhile, the MSQ includes, to various degrees of specificity, most of the vices and crimes that are features of the real world, including torture, kidnap, murder and r@pe.

Of course the protection of minors is important, but I imagine a 16 year-old visiting a mature venue knows exactly what they're getting into, and also knows how to click "I am over 18" on adult sites all over the web.

not like you can see whatever weird mod others use in their game. and also there is a word filter in the game.... what will a child coincedently landing in such a place see thats not appropriate?

It's fine to call ToS unfair, but to deny that these PFs are breaking ToS is completely different.
