Unskippable Ads in FFXIV

Your optimism is appreciated, but if they were to do anything, it would be introduce unskippable ads, additional subscription fee called premium, which would allow you to get no ads, all for the generous price of 21.99 GBP per month.

Not only that, they wouldn't give you more content, but less.

Now this is some quality trolling.

One of the unskippable ads should be a video with the primals, the Ceo and Yoshi P sailing on a private yacht. With Smile playing.
And a stylized "Content? Please look forward to it" appearing on the screen.

Id pay an extra 5 for that monthly. Maybe they should actually charge us every two weeks.

What makes you think any of the funds generated by ads would go towards FF14? It's already clear that they put in minimal effort into a lot of things, such as with Hrothgar/Viera wearing hats and 10 minute long holiday effects, yet the time between patches continues to increase. The company continues to release duds that fail to recuperate costs and mobile games that don't even last a year so FF14 continues to get its budget cut to cover such blunders.

unskippable ads is a great way to get me to unsub and never come back, its the same with disney+ soon as they gave me ads i couldnt skip from a service that costs money i unsubbed, if i want ads i'll go watch TV
