One big change that was done from Forum feedback was when they attempted to do "Greed only" in Alliance raids. It lasted like a week before the rescinded it because of the massive forum backlash.
Well, it got male bunnies and I think female cats. Of course, now there are giant threads about how people are unhappy with the models and they want complete redesigns as well as hats that hide their ears or something... I haven't really read much in them. The only way to fully fix those two races would be to just delete them entirely. I haven't seen any other race with so much hate than those two have.
So yes- posting 10,000 page threads will eventually cause some change, but it's rarely a good change. I've seen threads on how healers HAVE to do DPS in order to defeat boss fights only to be followed next expansion by, "Boss fights are too easy. Our healers are so bored that they're doing DPS to stay engaged!" Recently there was a thread about how the new banking mechanic for flying mounts was literally causing hundreds of people to vomit on their keyboards due to motion sickness. I've served in the Navy and I've flown on airplanes a lot. I've also went on carnival rides and even the second fastest roller coaster in the world. I've never seen anyone get motion sick from 4 degree bank on a computer screen. But... people complained and the bank got a major reduction. More changes.
It exists cause PvP deserves balance patches the same way PvE does. I know it's annoying for people who don't play PvP to see half a patch be just those changes, but I think that is more of an issue with the content per patch rather than PvP getting small number tweaks.
No. If we get any major changes in Dawntrail or the next expansion, it's due to the loss of active players, and not forum or community feedback.
I made a thread on here years ago that they should introduce apartments to help ppl who do not or cannot get a house and that they could basically be FC apartments but without the need for an FC. 6 months later they announced apartments. The only difference between what I posted and what we got was that I suggested the entrance be actually in the cities themselves and not the residential wards, which I still think would have been a better idea. Now I am not saying I gave them the idea, but it does seem a little coincidental.
The funniest thing about it, is that a ton of ppl poo'd on my post saying it was a horrible idea, no one would use it, it would be one more nail in the fc coffin, blah blah blah.
They listened to plenty of feedback for the character graphics update, but I can't think of much else.
