You can have my statue. I only ordered it for the emote.
Looking at some unpacking videos. I have no idea why they decided to make it as a single piece instead of having the wings as slip-in. The way they've made it, the entire figure presses down on the wings if the box is on its back, putting extra stress of them and makes them break.
Sadly this is not new for the FFXIV statues, seems every series have issues with parts. Really a shame since you have to pay premium for them compared to other figures.
So, yes I did contact support and no I'm posting ad a warning to others that if you get something from the store as a gift you have to throughly check.
As for the statue. I opened it carefully but through wing was broken clean off. The wing is super heavy and it's no wonder it broken of in shipment.
As for why I didn't check- I was opening the box up when I was told in no that it was a gift. So this is also a lesson to parents that yea you HAVE to check.
I'm more disappointed then anything and have learned an expensive lesson- so hope people learn from my mistakes.
I saw this before.
I really think they should honor the "Christmas returns" around this time of year. But as you said you grabbed the code for the emote - weird as it I'd, you should have checked it.
Can it be glued?
Superglue.
I would want to get confirmation from someone that they have used superglue on it previously and it has worked. There are some figurine materials for which superglue does not work, and you need to use two-part epoxy instead.
I'm not sure how to identify/test whether it will work, I just know sometimes superglue won't stick on things.
Had to glue one of my figures. A small robot that came with it fell down and broke off a leg, luckily the break was in a joint so it's not easy to see it. Material is listed as PVC and ABS, the superglue stuck since the break had some textures. Not sure how it would work if it's a smooth break.
One thing I would recommend, don't apply from the bottle. Instead, put some glue in a disposable container, then use a flat stick to apply the glue to the break. This will make it much easier to control how much is applied so it doesn't run all over the place when you stick the parts together. Use a thin layer of glue.
Perhaps take a few pictures and post it in the reddit AnimeFigures, then ask for any advice on repairing it. Tends to be people there that have similar problems and people help with advice.
