PS4 controller
-play on windows, SE launcher
-play with a sony dualshock PS4 controller
-connected by wire
was playing fine throughout the day, but after final boss was killed in the new 24 man raid, the controller was no longer recognized as a device for FFXIV.
-Other games it still worked fine
-tried a PS5 controller and a Xbox controller, none worked with FFXIV (all wired connected), but they all worked for other games

Also having the same issue with my ps4 DualShock controller, hope it gets addressed and resolved soon.

Also having the same issue with my dualshock 4. I am on Windows 10, and playing through the square launcher. When opening the in-game system configuration window, the gamepad settings say that no device is connected. My controller is not being detected by FFXIV, while being connected to my windows computer in bluetoth mode. While in my windows settings the controller is showing up as connected. So the same as everyone else has posted, the controller is not being detected by FFXIV while being paired as a bluetooth device. It is not connected to my computer using a USB, and never has been prior to the release of 7.1.

Same for me. Not using Steam. It worked just fine the day before patch. I am using Dualshock wireless via bluetooth adaptor. Had to go with DS4 (I've never used it before), but it started disconnecting when I plug my microphone, so I am not able to use mic and play at the same time. Again, everything worked just fine before patch.

Just adding on to this thread:
Same issue here.
Windows 11 with PS4 controller (no steam)
My wired connection isn't all that either to be honest. That's why I use bluetooth.
Hopefully it gets a fix sooner rather than later.
I've used this controller wireless for years for FFXIV, but since the patch just stopped working.
My controller or pc aren't the problem, since everything else (other games, etc) works just fine.
I've restarted PC and game multiple times.

Same issue here too. The controller DOES work with DS4Windows (v1.4.52) running; otherwise the game simply doesn't recognize it at all.
Windows 10 (fully updated)
Windows (non-Steam) version of XIV

Edit: Having done more content today, relying on DS4Windows is causing problems — the game isn't recognizing double-tapping of L2/R2 as smoothly as usual, making it more difficult to access my WXHB. Please prioritize figuring this out!

Same issue, Playstation 4 DualShock controller connected to my Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth is not recognized by FFXIV after Patch 7.1. I am not playing the Steam version of the game.
- My PC is detecting the controller, as well as other programs such as Steam (without DS4Windows running)

- System Config window states "Device Not Located" while PS4 controller is powered on and connected via bluetooth

- System Config recognizes controller when emulated by DS4Windows as an XBox 360 controller

- System Config no longer recognizes controller when emulated as DualShock4 controller

This problem is exclusive to FFXIV and Patch 7.1 as I was able to play prior to this patch with my PS4 controller without DS4Windows running emulation. DS4Windows is a temporary fix at best, because it increases the latency of inputs making high end content unnecessarily more difficult.

I also have the same problem.
Dualshock 4 Controller.
Windows 11 System
FFXIV played through its own launcher (non-Steam.)
And PC has innate Bluetooth connectivity.
The controller can't be found or recognized by the game itself. The controller works fine with other games.
Have tried resetting computer, controller, and redownloading and verifying file integrity as well.
Nothing has worked.
The only thing that works is having to plug in the controller through a USB port and it functions. Not ideal for me personally.
I hope that the problem is recognized and a fix to be found!

Same occurrence for me as well, on PC's running both Windows 11 and Windows 10 - playing through the Standalone launcher (non-Steam).
Desktops that are Windows 11 with two different PS4 controllers detect & connect via Bluetooth built-in to the motherboard fine, but XIV does not see them.
Gave it a go on my laptop, Windows 10 with Standalone Launcher, with a completely different controller - same scenario as above, still does not see it.
Final attempt was Desktop Win10 that uses a Bluetooth Dongle as opposed to built-in, with the same result of not seeing the controller in XIV but everything else see's it fine.
All scenarios, connecting directly to the PC via USB cable had them all become seen within XIV simply as 'Wireless Controller.'
Prior to 7.1 they all detected said controllers over Bluetooth perfectly and, in the laptop's case, since I started playing back in Patch 4.3.

Likewise, having the same issue where the controller is not detected unless plugged in via USB cable and it has only occurred after 7.1.
- Windows 10 (NOT Steam version)
