Can we please have a definitive answer regarding Hats for both Viera and Hrothgar

From what I've heard, it isn't the ears that are the problem so much as the hair that Viera (and I'm getting Hrothgar) have. We've seen a few hats and helmets work for Viera, but in all of those cases, either the hat is really small and not obscuring anything, or it's a fully enclosed helmet (usually a newer one), that completely sidesteps the problem.

If I had to guess, it's because a lot of helmets despawn hair to some degree to avoid clipping, and that gets rid of the Viera ears as well, but unlike say...miqo'te, none of the old legacy gear has instructions to make little bunny ear warmers.

Headgear for Viera and Hrothgar will be visible when the developers decide the item design will work with those models to their satisfaction. They will not be visible otherwise.

What more needs to be said? Not everyone finds putting a pair of holes into existing headgear satisfactory. Feel free to mod if you feel otherwise, it's not like SE cares about the modders as long as they aren't publicly sharing obscene images.

It's never happening.

It's been 5 years, and they couldn't even be bothered to give female Hrothgars access to all the hairstyle they unlocked for Viera and male Hrothgar over the last 2 years (which is really sad given that female Hrothgars were being developed right alongside those hairstyles being updated).

Nah. It's just a complete lack of interest or effort on the devs part. They're not "looking to see if the hats fit to satisfaction", they're not looking at all. Just look at the half-assed implementation of Hrothgals where most chest pieces aren't even scaled properly. If they cared about things being satisfactory they would at least acknowledge the problem as a known issue.

For years I was genuinely ok with playing the game as is since I didn't encounter any issues but man , DT sure changed my mind on some of that lmaooo Even pushed me to make some myself. They just keep dropping the ball and the way they handle viera/hrothgar is baffling - if they caved to put in the work of making the race then why are they so hellbent on delivering such a halfassed job?

"We'll do it sometimes, if we feel like it, and we like how it looks, but we won't tell you the criteria for that" isn't remotely a definitive answer. Yikes, what a take.

sorry, but you are wrong. I have never seen or read such an answer from them. otherwise, I wouldn't have made this post.

also to reply to what you said " Not everyone finds putting a pair of holes into existing headgear satisfactory " that's why we have the toggle option to hide or show headgear in the game already which will solve that.
that is not a reason to Not make hats visible for Both races.

Please do not come here and tell us what more we want, especially when a lot of us who want this problem Solved and put to rest pay a monthly subscription. this gives us the right to want stuff.
also, you clearly play a Lalafell that does not have the Hat issue, so how can you understand where we come from?

It’s not being ignored, it’s simply an indefensible answer. Look at the current scouting helmet from raids, and try to explain how that was a solution of acceptable quality to a triple-A studio who is making money hand-over-fist on this game.
CBU3 has nobody but themselves to blame for being put in this corner, because we’re three expansions into these races being in the game and they’ve chosen to kick the can down the road while more and more helmets are introduced. On the upside for them, their habit of reusing models but changing colors means once they do find a mesh solution, it should be easy to implement.
But the same thing could be said about dyes, and we see how that turned out.
