7.0 DNC is awful compared to EW

Got DNC to 100 and loving it. I main DNC in the last savage tier and have no clue what the OP is on about.

Besides the insane Tillana esprit overcap issue that i know a lot of people are struggling with. The fact that we cant pool resources for burst anymore and must go in totally empty without a single proc or combo or that dnc feels awful in TOP and DSR without Tillana? Need I go on? Having 5 fixed GCD's in burst sucks theres not flexibility anymore, DNC burst is almost as static as MCH now.

I do but DNC was my other love with its flexible rotation. The curent state of DNC goes against the core gameplay we've been taught since shadows of pool resources and adapt. Now its dump everything because if you have a single proc or combo you're screwed because its falling off because burst is so static theres no room to hit them and not being able to use any procs in burst feels awful

Its funny to me that an upgrade for DNC is getting to dance less.

DNC is supposed to be a priority based reaction job and resource managment was a huge part of it.

In DT DNC now has 5 set GCD's that must be in burst leaving only 3 GCD's to use esprit on saber dances. This problem of dancer having no instant ss refresh in TOP and DSR suddenly isn't helped by the fact that all our single target GCD's were nerfed below level 94 so DNC overall feels awful in old ultimates.

The other problem with Tillana is the big obvious one. Making it grant 50 esprit was insane. Technical finish makes the dancer gain esprit from the whole party and adding an extra 50 to that along with only having 3 GCD's to use this esprit under buffs is leading to insane over capping issues. One again I want to mention the combos and procs expiring during burst because even if we did press them and they weren't a dps lose they couldn't fit in the technical/devilemnt window anyway because those 3 GCD's DNC has free needs to dump this crazy excess of esprit we suddenly have.

Buffing standard step to the moon was a bad move. Having to use it exactly on cooldown takes away even more flexibility from DNC and means that the job can no longer benefit from skill speed optimisation like in EW.

Overall DNC needs to be fixed all of the flexibility the job was loved for has been stripped away

How come they've taken away the fun parts to DNC mechanic and dumbed it down into this boring repetitive 2 button system?

MCH fixed some of that problem in DT by giving charges of drill and having excevator ready be a buff, allowing more flexibility into the rotation. Brd i actually find the most punishing and difficult of the 3 phys but it still kept a lot of its flexibility, if you drift anything besides songs on brd it can be worked around and its no harm. If you drift SS on new dancer you push FM out of buffs and its gg. I miss flexible DNC and procs in burst. I miss resource management and not having procs expire besides its a lose to hit them under tech

I honestly don't care about not having to do proc management during burst because I think XIV's 2min meta is boring in itself.

Feel fine outside of the esprit overcapping issues, which can be band-aid by just either having Tillana grant a free SD proc instead or esprit or even making DotD its follow-up action.

Dawntrail DNC made the not-2min meta times better for me, and I take it for now. Obviously having in consideration that things will change again in 8.0, and maybe even more drastically if they really mean it. The aiming niche is is dire need of a better identity pass.

Nah like I've said earlier an instant refresh like Finishing move and old Tillana is very important for DNC in savage and ultimate. It's buff standard step that caused a lot of these issues. By buffing it to the moon it has to be used exactly on cooldown taking away flexibility, it locks DNC to a 2.5 second GCD and it means that procs can no longer be prioritised taking away from another aspect of the job which is managing RNG and Flourish procs.

Having procs be a dps lose and not used in burst sucks because it means you're not generating new feathers in burst and it makes the job feel less involved and reactory

I personally think Last Dance needs to be an OGCD to fill in the missing feathers from procs in burst, Tillana needs to indeed give a free SD and Dance of the Dawn needs to not cost Esprit
