Every time they do some type of event like this, it turns out to be a total shit show. It happened with this, with the pizza thing, Butterfinger promo... every one of them were fucked up by one means or another...
This gets old, the only ones getting screwed are the paying customers - not just SQEX customers, but the same ones buying products as another customer to support this lazily implemented third world management.

/sigh
I'm not a big soda drinker so I saved the last one for today.

Very interested to see how that Gong cha promo will go now.

This is so unfair, l really base my whole playtime on collecting all the things in FFXIV, l had family members help me get these codes and l have 600 exactly for the mount and how does a digital item sell out, l am beyond upset...sure l understand but they should of let us know this could happen little more clearly the collab just started...we had to find these dang bottles with the codes which was not easy...l hope they restock these codes.

I'm a person who luckily got it early but I was hoping for FC members to get it too, only to find out it's limited????
They really need to be more transparent with collaborations like this at bare minimum. Just find it really ridiculous that collabed digital items have a hidden cap before an event ends.
It happened with the GrubHub pizza promo and I won't forget how horrendously terrible that was either.
They need to be either Transparent about the caps or stop cap limiting already date limited items.

It would have been nice to know that they were limited. I finally got around to redeeming my codes yesterday.. I guess Square and Mountain Dew get my money whether I get a mount or not. :(

I actually remember distinctly hearing sponsored streamers talk about how the mount wasn't limited. I hope enough people remember what happened this time, and the next time create a post saying that the last time Square only gave out limited copies of their own mount, even though people paid money for the keys.
I drank all three mountain dews two days ago for the caps (I felt guilty just dumping the contents) and as a result I ended up only getting one hour of sleep because I didn't know how much caffeine was in a single Mountain Dew.
Mountain Dew is INSANE.
It has 55 grams of caffeine (which is the most for pretty much any soft drink)--which is about half of drip coffee. But then it loads 75 grams of sugar into the mix, which again, is more than most soda. I also drank three of the Purple Thunders, so whatever else they added into the mix.
Not blaming anyone but myself for actually consuming those products. Totally my fault, and something I will never, ever do again. Mountain Dew is off my list for the remaining years of my life for sure.
If I had consumed all three the second I got home from the store, I still had a chance because the mount keys were still available. But I paced out the Mountain Dews (one every 3 hours to be safe), and as a result...
Learn from my mistake people.

The absolute worst part about this artificial limited nonsense is that code for the Mountain Zu is selling in ebay for $69.99. This is what they've created with this incredibly poor campaign. It's absolute insanity.

This promotion was so poorly implemented it has actually injured my outlook on this game. Between artificial scarcity on digital goods and scalpers, SE and Pepsi failed pathetically to make it a successful event. It is time to reevaluate how promotions such as this are implemented. Furthermore, linking it to a single, arguably toxic beverage looks terrible on SE.

ngl I'm glad I didn't even bother trying to get a friend from the US get codes for me then. Sucks for anyone who already made the purchase, though.
