I have one question for all that want to go in alle houses and rooms:
Do you can do it in real life? Are all doors in your neighborhood open? Would the people that live in the houses not call the police if you go in them? Why should a game work differently?
I guess, the game could run slower if more buildings would have open doors. That's the reason why many buildings are instanced and you get a loading screen if you click on the white spot in front of a door.
Cheers
I praise Dawntrail for giving us more explorable areas overall; I have yet to explore all the zones but so far it's been better than past expansions.
Wasn't an issue in A realm reborn. Logically, in the world of ffxiv entering buildings/house is normal in said world.
Of course not in real life! lol But games in general, and FF in particular, have a history of hiding treasure chests in NPC spaces, finding items in NPC closets, or placing little clues or story tidbits to find. Just like you can read passages of books laying around in dungeons, it would be cool to find little stuff like that out in the world, especially new zones where you’re just getting to know the area and the locals.
Probably not the point you were trying to make, but I was kinda disappointed that Pictomancer didn’t get a true guild hall. I know they haven’t done that in ages, but when they said they were going to start in Gridania, and you see all those unused round buildings everywhere that could have been turned into a cute little art studio… Ul’dah is a little more subtle with its un-enterable places, where you can’t really gauge how much space might be behind one of those “no entry” doors. But still, sticking Viper outside the Weaver’s guild in the hallway… Reaper at least had a room for the head honcho iirc.
It’s just funny that all the new jobs are brought in by traveling NPCs, and none of them ever decide to stick around and open up shop anywhere! lol I could see the fetch quest now: have 3 NPCs sign this petition to get permission from the local Grand Company to open a formal guild hall in (insert city here).
Sorry, only lalafells can enter buildings
That's whats really jarring in Urqopacha too. TWO MEME buildings they put effort into where only lala's can enter. But a inn with a reception desk on a counter? ALL DOORS closed. Cabin by a lake? Door closed. You can't claim they lack resources if they use them for memery
