I only tried VPR on a dummy for a minute or two, but isn't it equally 'braindead' as current MNK? Just click the glowy button.

Just 'cause it has the lowest amount of use among the melee DPS Jobs?
As with most jobs, the solution is to revert to Stormblood/Heavensward.
Am I going crazy or were the colors associated with stances swapped around on the gauge? I.e. Raptor used to be Green, but now its purple?
Also, the new gauge having virtually the same color balls (dark pink/purple barely noticeable difference in play) for Oppo/Raptor seems extremely lazy
I started in Endwalker & got used to playing with EW Monk PB coloring, I don't understand why the colors have been shell gamed for no apparent reason? Is this usual for an expac?
Even if we're just looking at basic combos, VPR swaps positionals 3x as often as MNK, needs to watch a relatively short debuff in addition to its glowing buttons/UI, and is also generating resources. MNK technically generates resources, but there's no management since you always just hit Forbidden Chakra whenever you hear the ding.
At max level, I believe VPR only spends around a third of its rotation doing its basic combo and is constantly moving in and out of it with a relatively high degree of freedom. MNK only deviates to spam opos during bursts or press Blitz/Fire/Wind's Reply a couple times every 2 min, with only Wind's Reply allowing for any kind of flexible decision-making. Outside of that, it's just 40+ uninterrupted seconds doing nothing but your basic combo, with no additional timers, resources, procs, ogcds (aside from 1 90s one), etc.
I'm not saying VPR is some kind of galaxy brain job, just that MNK lacks most the baseline level of mechanical complexity shared by almost all of the other DPS jobs in favor of ...staring at your hotbars, I guess?
Did they stealth buff mnk? I see elixer field and rising phoenix are both 900 potency now. Phantom rush is 1400. I didn't see any notes about it. I thought potency buffs were not going to be until 7.01.
In what way is Dawntrail Monk's core a net improvement from that of Endwalker?
Is this just because you get an extra 3 non-rotational GCDs per minute (which is far from core anyways)?
Because your damage lives or dies solely by Opo-opo (since all else has been trimmed)? The one extra Formless GCD per RoF for even more Opo-opo?
