My 2 cents: offering an "old option" is tantamount to throwing in the towel and "splitting the player base". I think it would be far better if they just fixed the regressions instead

At the minimum, people just desire a compromise, so that everyone has what they want. Your tone expresses that you do not wish for there to be a compromise by saying SE should not listen or change anything.
Is a reversion too much to ask? Yes.
Is an option to use the old graphics too much to ask? Many will say no, because it doesn’t affect those who like the new changes, and those who do not, get to continue to enjoy the game as they have for the past decade using the graphics they are already used to and prefer.
Of course, SE has already stated that such an option will somehow create a bloat in the game’s file size, so…
Although I feel that may not be the entire truth given the existence of games who have the graphics options of terrible to extreme, it’s what we’re forced to have as SE has shown that they will not budge on many changes, this being one of them.
I used to be able to turn of the blurry glare rocks from Mhor Dona and The Navel, but now I can't see because DLSS doesn't have a toggle anymore. I would LOVE to be able to turn it off because I can LITERALLY NOT SEE during these encounters.
Then your feedback should absolutely be "Allow us to disable upscaling on all platforms" not "Please revert the graphics update". One is good feedback, the other is toys-out-of-the-pram overcorrection. As for something actually constructive, if you are on PC, try going the external route through nvidia GeForce, or whatever the AMD alternative is. I optimised XIV through Geforce after the update and it fixed a lot of discomfort that I had.
I agree TAT
My cat girl looks so different between be4.
We do not need worse delays and less stuff just because you hate change.
Let's be realistic. SE is not going to go through an entire major graphics update, devoting untold hours and resources to it, just to let you "switch it off." It's here to stay. Period.
The useful thing we can do is provide specific feedback about what exactly the issues it's causing are and focus on making adjustments there.
No idea what you all are complaining about. The game looks absolutely stunning in 4K/120 FPS on my PS5 playing on my OLED TV. No issues at all (minus the new hazy lighting inside my house). Don't throw PS5 folks into your camp. The game looks fantastic and runs smoother than it ever has for me.
