Idea: Merge PLD Sword and Shield into a Single Item

Now this cannot happen as there’s no crafted Ifrit or Garuda glowing shields. Titan only has a crafted shield but no sword; on,y Ifrit and Garuda have the swords.

Capable? Sure. Willing? Questionable, otherwise we would have Coil, Alexander and old Primal weapons from ARR-HW for GnB, DnC, SGE and RPR.

I think there's a difference between adding a handful of one-offs (i.e., less than a half dozen exceptions, I think) and committing to an even greater and greater effort for back-filling weapons since it's only a problem that will get worse as time goes on (i.e., 2 additional weapons per expansion per weapon-giving thing)

It wouldn't be a Handful, they know as consumers we will want everything.

So many have asked for Ult Weapons for other classes, for unlocked Armors, for Hempen Small Clothes, For racial variants to newer races.

Overall, it doesn't change what folk have said.

It would create a new set of work they need to do. (While of course it would be best if they did so from the start, you only need to see the GenLocked Gear that they eventually unlock later on as an example.)

Maybe in the distant future, but that would require not only the back end, but how the Visuals are.

And clearly they have better things in plan.
(This just wouldn't surface in the majority of the players wants. Like Unlocking Armors, or Hempen Sets, or the Entire Glamour System.)
[Some of you all may want this, but most players don't even hear of these asks. They are likely to understand other asks as more worthwhile, and this one will be pushed down.]

I don't see why one has to be done before the other.

SE could develop whatever tech/code/data is necessary to glamour the two parts of a NIN, RDM, AST, MCH, etc. weapon as it's own feature, without having to deal with, say, ARR swords and shields (remember that some shields can be used by CNJ/THM/WHM/BLM).

In that scenario, PLD would still be able to glamour their sword and shield separately, just like they can do today.
