You have to start the character creation process so that it registers your account on the datacenter. Basically, select new character and choose the datacenter and world from the list. Once done, you don't need to actually create a character, but it will register your 'slots' to you. Then go back out and choose your datacenter and from the character select screen you can do the datacenter travel.

yeah, I tried multiple times in Midgardsormr to no avail...Might be able to stay in game for like 5-6 minutes then get kicked out!!! Well, maintenance sometime today, hopefully fixed by reset day tomorrow.
