Yes. It is also the one of game's two main selling points, so pruning it out or making it optional would be extremely counterproductive.

if u are a solo player yes, when I started to play the game my frends always asked to me to speed up with MSQ so we can do some certain raids together already.

It is too big, yes, and the rabbit is also already out of the hat with their boosts. So I don't think we'll see a freebie to start at Dawntrail. -- My estimation is they will try another expansion before giving people a free choice to start in DT.

Raids aren't going anywhere. Considering 4 months between patch cycles gives you plenty of time

I am not paying their sub, sorry, and yes they are "going", like 70 level alliances are now nerfed, compared to original 70 level one.
If I will not get to 90 level alliances until DT release, then, well unlucky for me, I will play different 90 level alliances, the nerfed one.
Same problem goes for 50 level alliance, they are now total unplayable trash, nerfed to the ground, compared to original 50 level alliances, u played 510 years ago.

MSQ is OK, but MSQ locking every aspect of the game in MMO game is not Ok, I bought EW, and want to play it, not to run endless Fetch quest fiesta and dreaming, that some day the game will "open" for me and I will finally play high level content, instead of old, outdated, abandoned one (hello Crystal Tower and Alexandr Raids)

Don't forget the content that actually has a real shelf life.
You might have 3 friends who want to do it with you, but good luck otherwise finding someone to do Eureka Orthos or Criterion/Criterion savage with.
Even normal savage and extremes become harder to find people for the longer you wait.
Ishgardian restoration is a very different experience now than it was when the content came out.
The list goes on.

I guess l am going to repeat myself again. Use gw2's approach. As Long As party leader finished the story, the leader can bring the entire party into the instanced content. And let the rowan's representatives in starting cities sell end game gears. So people can raid with their friends immediately, and do story at their on pace if they are interested. I bought story skip and skipped all the ew cutscene and dialogues. I found ng+ button few months ago, and the story is actually enjoyable to do content isn't gated behind it.

And obviously you got to own the expansions to get into relevant content. That condition check will still exist, but not the story progression.

The game is getting is getting too big in file size too.
94 GB!

That isn't all that much these days.

Destiny 2 has a bigger install and they deleted like, 70% of the game permanently.
