If he really wants nothing to do with us, he sure knows how to make sure that doesn't happen. I don't want anything to do with him either but he gets inserting himself into things that involve the people he's 'blocked', and then whining when people mention him. I wish I didn't have to see his comments through replies but ublock is too much of a nuclear option for me to continue using. I don't want to lose access to an entire thread just because a specific person was the last one to comment in it.

Statwise Xaela Au Ra have the best race bonuses for anything melee. Tied with Hrothgar
Is it a relevant number at all? Not really but the bonus hp has saved me more than once.

If you value this minuscule advantage then yes its a good choice.

Xaela and highlander have the same stats, but int/mnd reversed. Not that it matters. (Edit: I think hrothgar have 1 more vitality, but I’m not certain and you have to play hrothgar)
I’m going to recommend lalafell as the obvious choice, even with the weird ear armour on some helmets.

Just a heads up, if you go Raen (light scales) and try to wear a helmet, you'll have big white horns jutting out from your generally dark helmet and it looks awkward. Xaela (dark scales) tend to look better for this imo. Just noting it since you mentioned liking jobs that usually wear helmets. There's a helmet I really would love to wear, but my big white fish fins jut out of it and it looks pretty terrible.
Either way, maybe make an alt and run around as an au ra to see if you actually like it before you change your whole look with the one (1) free fanta and then decide you hate it and have to spend money to change back.
Also obligatory "fantas should just be free since this is a subscription mmo and changing some pixels costs the company nothing" post.

All races look good on all jobs. However, there are some that look better in some. Female Au Ra look best in both DRK and DRG in my opinion, especially Xaela
You get a free fantasia after finishing ARR, so you can buy one, and use the free one to swap out if you don't like Au Ra.

Get ready for some major visual adjustments, going from the biggest female model to the second smallest.

I mean, you're right, but at the same time female Roegadyn are somewhat protected by their reputation for having dangly parts downstairs. It by no means serves to keep all the degenerate potatoes away, but it does at least filter some of them out.

For the edification of new people that might be raising an eyebrow at this: I am being completely serious. This looks like a meme, but it's not. ... Okay, it's also a meme, but not all memes are lacking a foothold in reality.

I go back and forth between au ra and thighlander, and I love au ra because:
- I use the fat tail, and it looks nice with certain armor pieces that add tail armor (radiant's fending and maiming sets, pteroslaver set etc)
- Tail animations are really cute
- I personally like the emotes. They're more reserved, but have a lot of personality
- Looks good in most things. Although some bulkier armor sets swamp my character's body, so I don't use them. Also anything that removes the tail will look bizarre, because of the way we run as though counterbalanced by a tail
- I just really like the face/horns I use
- scale patterns on the legs/arms/back are neat
- Most natural-looking neutral stance imo. The only thing that really bugs me about thighlander is the way she clenches her fists like she's about to throw a punch in cutscenes

You're a fem roe, why would you want to downgrade like that?

Also, elezen look best in drg gear anyway.
