I mean...can we even Prove or Disprove this?
Is there a dependable 100% accurate Metric that tells us How many Participate in the Forms VS....elsewhere?

"White / bright knights"?

Oh, oh, let me try.
The perpetual forum-dwelling malcontents are a very small vocal minority.
So, maybe Im just weird here and maybe its been said already. But....
""I don't really want to say "This is what needs to be collected" before the implementation, so let me refrain from talking about it (laughs). However, in terms of the flow, the intention this time is for players to be able to upgrade (the weapon) while playing various contents at the same time, so please be assured that there will be no major changes.""
So, for me this is a little vague, almost as if its a hint at something else. 'Almost'. He says "No MajorChanges"...but he didnt say "Nothing Would Change"
Also didnt want to Mention Anything Before Implementation.
Idk, insert Copium Meme, call me stupid, insult me, AFk in Limsa, Game is dead, WHATEVER.
Just to me the language here feels like it could be more then the automatic assumption: Its just another 1500 Tomes and Hildi Story.
Im likely wrong and stupid here. But guess Ill just be that ONE person to rub against the grain yet again.
All that means is that he wants the next relic step to feel just as fluid and organic to what players will naturally gravitate towards during endgame gameplay as tomes.
Could mean more tomes, could mean a currency from endgame relevant activities (I hope), but we don't know either way until we see it. Of course, the people of the forum do know better. They know everything.
The forums were always a bit mixed, but they were more positive a few years ago. If you had criticism, or would make certain suggestions, it was pretty common to see belittling comments in reply: "this game isn't for you", etc. I'd say it's still pretty mixed, but a lot more people are seeing the writing on the wall, and a lot of the newer players that don't will see it sooner or later, when they get to that point in the game too.
Go look at the nature of a lot of recent criticism; it's centered around the relic announcements for 6.4. People found out that it'd be more of the same, and they're frustrated because post-EW has seen longer lulls between updates, with what they feel is less interesting content to show for it. Those feelings about the relic have been echoed even by well known content creators, so it's snowballed hard into a lot of threads criticizing the same things, and has spread into a generally dissatisfied vibe.
Here's an actual ChatGPT response. They really do be like bots huh?

Play another game. Really. If you're just going to complain and be negative, then maybe it's time for you to unsubscribe. The game was always like this, and it's not going to change just because you're not happy with it. You didn't even give suggestions for how it could be improved, you're just doom and gloom about everything.
Yoshi P said that they're always listening to feedback and trying to make improvements. It's just a small minority of players who are upset, and honestly, the Steam charts mean nothing. Nobody watches Twitch anyway, so why should we care what the streamers are doing?
I never liked that content creator anyway, so I'm not going to listen to their opinions. Who wants to grind that? Not me, and I'm sure a lot of other players feel the same way. I like it better this way, and I still have so much content to do. I don't want more things to do, I'm perfectly happy with the way things are.
You don't even have all the achievements yet, so why are you complaining about content being too easy? Have you tried doing Ultimates? That's some really challenging content that will keep you busy for a while.
Housing is a luxury, not a necessity. If you don't want to spend the time and effort to get a house, then that's your own choice. I don't want that, it gives me FOMO, so I'm perfectly happy without one.
Back when I played WoW things were different, but that doesn't mean that FFXIV should change to be like WoW. Just datacenter hop if you're not happy with your current server. There's no need to complain about it all the time.
