Market wards - Auction hous status for 2.0?

They must do something quick fix short term with the wards. Trying to get a retainer into a main city ward is next to impossible. I try to check ours almost daily and im now going on 3 weeks without 1 :(

With their "fixes", what is the point of having to have a physical retainer in a ward to sell something? People buying things don't ever have to interact with them besides the issue with +1 items. That's ignoring the fact that I can't even get in on the hot Ul'dah market action but rather that it seems incredibly pointless and adds additional steps to something that should be simple.

Sounds like redundancy if you ask me, they should just get over their pride and scrap the marketwards and start again.

I don't think we can no, people have experience with other games weather that be FF11 or WoW, Aion or Tera, which all do a better job at the marketplace than this game does, the idea of the marketward was good in theory but it didn't work.

Allowing more retainers into the marketward will only create more congestion and server issues in the long run, especially considering that in 2.0 the population is mostly likely to grow much larger.

Totally agree with this, they should reset all retainers every 72 hours in my opinion to allow new people into the Ul'dah wards, its pretty ridiculous how some people have had the same retainer up for months non stop.

As being part of FF series most of us like (love) the fact that this games does things it's own way. No issue at all there. Buying and selling should go really smoothly and fast. The efficiency and pace of the transactions will always be compared to other games/mmo's, and rightly so. Finding the item you want as fast as possible or selling it efficiently is always a MUST, no matter if you call it an auction house, broker, or market wards.
There has been PLENTY of good (and bad) ideas all over these forums about how to do it. Now it's time SE tells us what they are planning for 2.0 so that at least we can give some feedback before development is at the point of no return.

The current system is terrible.

Just wipe it all out, and make a normal auction house. Copy the one from FFXI if you must--even with its shortcomings, it was leaps and bounds better than this retainer crap.
